It is quite easy to provide a basic technical definition of Virtual Reality. It is a three-dimensional environment generated by a computer with which an individual can interact. What is more, a person using special tools like VR headsets and controllers can manipulate objects stimulated by computers and perform some actions. Today, VR is blending our senses with a virtual environment to provide new experiences.
At the moment, VR technology becomes more and more worthwhile in terms of entertainment. Immersive films, videos, video games are made compatible with this technology bringing a new level of experience never seen before. There is a range of possible applications for VR including sport, medicine, architecture, and the arts. For instance, VR is often used to train fighter pilots or surgeons. It is essential because it allows them to gain close to real-world experience eliminating the danger and costs of the real practices.
To my mind, this technology will have a bright future as it continues to develop. I believe that VR headsets will become more affordable and popular and will be used not only for gaming but also in the household. Along with the improvement of the simulated environment’s quality, its use also will expand. For example, It can be applied by bright surgeons to perform a remote surgery with the help of a robotic device. It reduces the time needed for traveling a medical practitioner and reduces possible complications. Furthermore, it can be used to reconstruct historical periods and events in detail to further demonstrate them in films or create historic battles in video games. VR technology is still developing and its use will expand to almost all fields of human activity.
