But what is good for man is bad for the beast, which did not challenge the Wild but betrayed Him. The great and terrible were crushed over time, their howling no longer shook the heavens, and their former brethren only laughed at them. But the loyalty instilled by artificial dogs is pride in their owners and position. There was a man with the dog, and there was a dog with the man. Together, they were stronger than some of the creations of the Wild, which could have little to oppose the developing humanity. So they had to leave.
People developed planted fields, and built barns. There was so much food that it had to be stored somewhere. And a new attack has come to simple food. The other children of the Wild are small, agile, very smart, and led by the Rat King. The rats multiplied so fast that the Rat King needed new lands and resources. And the war of annihilation began. Rats sharpened food, people, and dogs. They were small; there were countless seas of them, and they brought destruction and disease with them.
The Cat-God looked at all this with a playful smile. Although he was small and could not compare in strength with his big brothers and sisters, he was very smart and quickly adapted to everything, staying without changing his habits and staying in the win. He came to the Rat King and offered an agreement. The Cat-God and his children will eat rats wherever they meet, which will reduce the number of rats. And rats can feed in fields and in cities, which is much easier to find food in forests. But if people, or someone else, kill the children of the Cat God, then the Rat King will arrange a new harvest to restore the order established by the Cat God. The Rat King was satisfied with this. He knew that sooner or later, the rats would not get food, and he had no forces that would help make the rats multiply less.
Therefore, the Cat-God and his children came to the people. They caught rats wherever possible, for which people were grateful to them and loved them very much. And the dogs hated them and began to envy them. The creations of the Wild, small rats defeated dogs, and cats saved people from rats and even turned out to be the winner. For unquestionably loyal but puny dogs, it was unforgivable. They hated cats and were looking for an excuse to get rid of them.
While the children of the Cat-God only smiled and basked in the rays of people’s attention. They didn’t care what dogs thought; they just enjoyed their lives and didn’t want to be disturbed by such petty and vicious creatures as dogs. The dogs were consumed by envy. They also really wanted to be loved and stopped even thinking about the possibility of losing themselves in such a desire. They continued to grow stupid and shrink, becoming toys for humans and cats, who look at dogs with pity, although some are still bigger than themselves. But to this day, the world of the Cat-God has been preserved. A cat eats rats, rats interfere with people’s lives, and dogs don’t like cats. And if people offend the children of the Cat-God, the Rat King will show them how much they were wrong.
