Nonetheless, the technologist cannot underestimate the vitality of safety, as the complexity of machinery and its malfunction can be regarded as a cause of the wrongful diagnosis and injury (Lavin, Harper, & Barr, 2015; Barnsteiner, 2011). Meanwhile, the professional has to be able to decrease the level of anxiety during the procedures due to its correlation with the patient’s satisfaction, as this aspect can be discovered as a potential reason for the wrongful diagnoses (Webster, Gallaher, Lopez, Brown, & Evans, 2012). It could be said that these matters ensure that the actions of the cardiovascular technologist comply with the safety regulations and depict the ability of the profession to comply with the principles of medical practice.
In this case, it remains apparent that customer-centered care has to be regarded as one of the essential attributes of the functioning of this professional. This model implies using an individual approach to reach each customer while being in a direct contact with him/her during the procedure (Gluyas, 2015; Small & Small, 2011). This approach is crucial as direct contact with a client has a positive influence on the brand image of the medical instruction while attracting more patients to the entity due to the ability to create a perception of a patient-centered facility.
In the end, it could be said that the in-depth analysis revealed that the cardiovascular technologist is an important component while conducting the sufficient screening of the cardiovascular issues, as he/she ensures the functioning of the availability of the electronic results to technicians. Meanwhile, the primary skills are related to the maintenance of technology while assuring the safety and reducing the anxiety of the patients during the testing procedures to avoid bias in the results. Despite the essentiality of the knowledge of the technology, the customer-centered services have to be prioritized to maintain the company’s image at the positive level and highlighting the importance of the quality.
Cardiovascular technologist’s mission is to provide services to measure the functioning of the cardiovascular system with the assistance of the specialized electronic devices. The primary tasks are conducting various tests (e.g. electrocardiogram and echocardiogram) to measure the cardiac activity of the patients, explaining the necessity of procedures to the patients, monitoring blood pressure and pulse, maintaining the documentation about the patient and his medical history, and ensuring the safety while conducting procedures mentioned above.
As for the required skills, the cardiovascular technologist has to be able to 1) have a sufficient knowledge of medical hardware and software such as MEDITECH software, database software, cardiac pacemaker generator; 2) communication skills (understanding customer’s needs and maintaining the quality of the healthcare at a high level); 3) excellent command of English language; 4) desire to learn and flexibility; 5) critical thinking, monitoring, and evaluation of the results; and 6) information synthesis and search. The job requires a suitable educational background in the medical field and three years of work experience in a similar position.
