Conceptualization of Modern Art

Introduction

The art in the news is the method of attracting the public attention to this sphere. Journalists are focused on posting exclusively on scandals or exceptional cases related to art. For example, in Banksy’s work which shredder itself, the press found the fascinating show which could attract the attention of many people (Daley, 2018). The increased attention to the portrait of Barak Obama from the press and mass media highlights that the journalist primarily strives to find compelling works which can impact the ordinary people distant from the sphere of art. Modern art aims to reconsider the traditional concepts adding new dimensions to the creation process.

Discussion

Banksy’s painting which was almost destroyed during the auction, is a representation of the new performative art direction. Such an approach eliminates painting concepts, making art freer of limits. The main idea of such destruction is conceptualizing a picture creating the performance or show, which is also the dispatch of art. The portrait of Barak Obama is also a conceptualized outstanding work that highlights the uniqueness of the president’s impact on the country’s future (Davis, 2018). Compared to other president portraits, Obama’s one represents the drastic contrast of ideology. This radical change expresses the protest against traditional values. Its reliability regarding the political context is difficult to evaluate. However, from the artistic perspective, the work conveys the revolutionary change of tradition, respecting the ideology of this outstanding personality.

Another case of the reshaping of modern art is NFT, the example of which is provided in Figure 1. For example, the creation of the Bored Apes’ pictures significantly advanced the digital art sphere (Chayka, 2021). Moreover, the whole reconsideration of digital art value can be highlighted after Apes NFTs were posted. This can be called the digital revolution of modern art, which leads people to understand the pieces of creation in a new, conceptualized way. The notion of traditional painting is eliminated by adding new visual and physical techniques to the creation process.

Conclusion

Therefore, today’s art appreciation is directly connected with the exclusive creations aimed at changing the traditional perception of art.
