Introduction
There are very many things that influence decision-making in a business scenario. Ethics is one of the things that affect it widely. These are the rules and regulations that govern the ordering and values of a certain group of people or an organization. Alex has established a business that has been doing so well but is suddenly collapsing due to certain problems. This was mainly due to a lack of ethical values which led to health problems that affected his workers. This included HIV/AIDS which was the major pandemic facing the people.
Main body
Alex is faced with the opportunity to convey his new ideas, critical thinking, decision-making, and knowledge to his organization. As stakeholders, James and Moses now must make the big decision to turn the catastrophe into a prospect while making a greater attendance on the business. They have to make sure that they fight this tragedy accordingly (Kiein, 2009). This greatly affected this business because most of the population working for Alex’s organization was the youth which was widely affected in one way or the other –the stakeholder may be affected with the disease himself or the relations which may need time to be attended to hence affecting the business(Bushong, 1999). Secondly, most of them used illegal drugs and they would share needles for the injection of the illegal drug and hence spread the disease faster. This was due to a lack of ethical and moral values hence the high level of infidelity therefore high no of the workers would die within a short time. Also, they would give rise to children who are infected, and hence there was a decrease in the mortality rate. This would mean that there would be no working generation for the next few years and hence the high drop in performance in the business.
There was also a decline in the funding of the business as most of the funds were used for the treatment due to this pandemic. Globally, there are funds set aside for the campaigns against this disease. Many fundraisings are also done towards this disease and hence reduction in the funds for running the business (Jonkey, 2007).
To evaluate this problem “Post eradication programs “ are put in place to fight against the disease which has greatly affected all the nation regardless of age whether young or old. Drugs (ARVS) have also been given for free for those infected with the disease. To maintain their health they are also urged to get a balanced diet and those not able to get food are also given by the government. Primitivism is also a big problem and this is avoided by encouraging the population to go to school to get knowledge to prevent being easily swayed off by others (Sherman, 2003). This would highly improve on the knowledge of the people and there would be a decrease in the no of people dying per year.
Conclusion
The main cause of the quick spread of the disease was poverty where the poor population would sell their bodies to get money for their personal use (Manning, 2005). It is recorded that children from rich families would not be infected at an early stage because of the provision of their basic needs and also restrictions as compared to children from poor families.
