Lo, P., Lyu, Y. P., Chen, J. C. C., Lu, J. L., & Stark, A. J. (2022). Measuring the educational value of comic books from the school librarians’ perspective: A region-wide quantitative study in Taiwan. Journal of Librarianship and Information Science, 54(1), 16-33. Web.
Comic books are essential to popular culture and the people who collect them. The study’s authors are Lo and colleagues, whose article was published in 2022. The work aimed to investigate how Taiwanese school librarians see the educational usefulness of comic books (Lo et al., 2022). A region-wide questionnaire survey was distributed for this research (Lo et al., 2022). Seven hundred eighty-nine responses to the questionnaire survey inquiry were collected (Lo et al., 2022).
The causal association between various comic book genres and children’s voluntary reading was determined using the regression model (Lo et al., 2022). According to the study’s findings, comic books can increase the number of students who visit the school library after the lesson, help students improve their reading comprehension, and increase their enthusiasm for voluntary reading (Lo et al., 2022). The significance of the study can be seen in its perspectives on education and strategies to promote learning.
The study is crucial for the field in which I work, more specifically, education. Teaching strategies are essential when it comes to successful learning outcomes. Much research has been dedicated to the effectiveness of instruction approaches and materials used during the lessons. By delving deeper into the effectiveness of comic books, it can be possible to cause more student engagement and enthusiasm, which will result in better performance of learners and their academic achievement. Overall, such research work has helped me structure lessons and assignments to consider all students’ learning styles.
Mohebi, L. (2021). Theoretical models of integrating interactive learning technologies into teaching: A systematic literature review. International Journal of Learning, Teaching and Educational Research, 20(12), 232-254. Web.
Due to the rapid advancement of technology and the abundance of research papers on technology integration in education that are produced yearly, it is essential to focus on new instruction methods and their effectiveness. The study was published in 2021 by Mohebi and is dedicated to integrating interactive learning. The work aimed to examine and evaluate theoretical frameworks and models for integrating technology during lessons (Mohebi, 2021). A qualitative review of academic literature was used in the study’s design.
The results demonstrate that comprehension of the theoretical models of interactive learning technology integration creates possibilities for research and ideas for education policy advancement (Mohebi, 2021). Establishing new modalities that increase professional development based on learning-centered approaches in which the instructors are motivated is vital, and funding mechanisms beyond basic technological access must be put in place (Mohebi, 2021). The significance of the study can be observed in its emphasis on remote learning and integration of technologies, which helps simplify the educational process.
The article is related to my field and is crucial for my future career as an educator. Nowadays, educators must recognize the importance of innovations and technologies that can be useful when applied during lessons. On the one hand, such innovations can facilitate the learning process. On the other hand, such approaches can help engage students and diversify assignments and activities. Incorporating more modern approaches instead of conventional ones can achieve better learning outcomes and promote enthusiasm, creativity, and critical thinking.
Pichugin, V., Panfilov, A., & Volkova, E. (2022). The effectiveness of online learning platforms in foreign language teaching. World Journal on Educational Technology Current Issues, 14(5), 1357-1372. Web.
The study was published in 2022 by Pichugin and colleagues and focuses on practical tools for mastering foreign languages. Exploiting Internet learning platforms is one technique to conduct remote language instruction. The usefulness of online learning tools for learning English as a foreign language is examined in the paper (Pichugin et al., 2022). The comparative method is the foundation of the study. The online learning platform separated learners from higher education institutions into two distinct categories (Pichugin et al., 2022).
According to the study, the ATutor and Moodle platforms are helpful for online English language instruction (Pichugin et al., 2022). The results show that students’ language skills have significantly improved, demonstrating the value of online learning platforms for teaching and learning a foreign language (Pichugin et al., 2022). The study emphasizes the advantages of remote learning. It offers guidance to institutions on how to use that information to create successful online learning initiatives that may be implemented during emergencies (Pichugin et al., 2022). The study’s findings can be applied to education systems to arrange the learning process.
The study by Pichugin and colleagues is helpful for my future career as an educator as it emphasizes the tools and their effectiveness when learning a new skill. By recognizing the effectiveness and usefulness of online tools, I can consider incorporating them into my teaching strategies. Additionally, through this research, I have understood the importance of leveraging technology and online resources to benefit students. Without acknowledging the shift in educational processes, it would be impossible to cater to individual student needs and pay attention to each person’s unique learning style. The mentioned teaching strategies can help me include more evidence-based practices in my classroom.
