A dilemma of talented people not succeeding in their lives seems disturbing to anyone. However, according to Angela Duckworth, everyone can reach their goals with the help of grit. To be more exact, grit is “a special blend of passion and perseverance” that is even more fundamental to success than any talent (Duckworth, 2018). In other words, the goal is accomplished when a person is devoted to one’s endeavor.
Furthermore, I fully agree with Angel Duckworth’s opinion on success achievement and attempt to follow her ideas in my life. For instance, I enjoy going to school, which is why I am persistent to be at the top of my class, not just for higher marks but also for acquiring more knowledge. In other words, my passion for studying and desire to work hard is a mix identified by Angel Duckworth as grit (Duckworth, 2018). Another critical point is that I tend to employ such ideas in my career as well. To be more exact, my occupation is related to my hobby, and therefore, I enjoy working in my past time to earn extra money. As a matter of fact, my job sometimes might seem challenging; however, as I follow the idea of grit, I can easily handle the occurring problems.
Overall, the idea of grit seems relevant to me, and that is why I follow it in my school practice, career, and life in general. Still, I plan to grow my grit by surrounding myself with the things I am passionate about and thoroughly enjoy. In addition, I am trying to eliminate the negative influence from aspects of my life I find unfavorable and, therefore, I am capable of increasing the passion factor of my grit. As for perseverance, I am a natural problem solver always determined to tackle any issues on my way.
