Introduction
At the Federal Qualified Health Center, ensuring equal access of every member of society to quality medical care is difficult, as the solution to this problem must be comprehensive. Among patients at different socioeconomic levels, inequalities in access to health care are pretty straightforward and also depend on the level of language proficiency of the person seeking help. This underlines the need to adopt measures that would increase inclusiveness and diversity in society, which would have a positive impact on the health system.
Inclusion and Diversity Strategies
The first strategy to address the problem was to make it compulsory to train health workers in cultural skills. This step will improve the understanding of different groups of patients by specialists (Dewidar et al., 2022). The individual needs of the patient are directly dependent on nurses being trained in a culturally sensitive approach.
A second strategy could be to establish a navigation program that would allow everyone equal access to health services. Such programs are effective and have already demonstrated this quality in improving the quality of service for marginalized groups (Kiradoo, 2022). Thus, the creation of a program in which people with different languages would assist other patients in making appointments and reviewing doctor’s instructions would remove the language barrier.
Finally, a third strategy could be an information campaign that affects every member of society and aims to raise awareness of the need for equal access to health care. The communication materials that would be accepted in this campaign could be adapted to the different cultures and preferences of patients, which would undoubtedly resonate with other people.
Conclusion
In conclusion, all three strategies will provide an integrated approach to addressing issues of inclusion and diversity in society. These steps could increase the popularity of health professionals’ person-centered approach. Thus, the result could be an equitable health system that can meet the needs of diverse cultural and social groups.
