Introduction
Having just completed a 3 week survey on the landscape surrounding your company, I submit a report which will highlight the flaws in the landscape and provide concrete solutions to those problems.
One of the major flaws that stood out during my survey was muddy and unpaved walkway between departments of the company. Besides this, the report will also discuss on lack of greenery, poor drainage and waste land.
Walkway
According to me this aspect of the survey was essential to be discussed because it endangered the safety of employees of the company. On the last week of the survey, heavy rains caused muddy and mucky walkway which only worsened with time. It needs to be noted that repercussions in delaying its rectifications could be severe resulting into injury or even death of employees hampering business and causing losses through insurance policies. Keeping in mind, this walkway is very busy and used by almost all employees of your company, its improvement should be considered paramount by the managing committee.
Concrete or tiled roads would provide a safe, comfortable, environmental friendly and durable pathway to your employees. Though this would result in increase of cost but in long term this makeover would be beneficial.
Greenary
Although, there were few trees planted along the pathway, a lot more was left to be desired. A well-planned garden with shrubs will enhance the beauty of the surrounding. Also, more trees around the campus will make the atmosphere pleasant to your employees.
Drainage System
Poor drainage system due to blocked underground pipes resulted in overflow of dirt which was even more prominent during heavy downpour of rains. This causes bad odour and an unpleasant surrounding. There is also a possibility of breakout of epidemic among your employees due to such an unhealthy environment.
Drainage workers need to be hired to manoeuvre the drainage system of your campus which may be lengthy process demanding both time as well as money.
Waste Land
During the survey it was also noted that the company campus had several empty spaces which was not utilized efficiently. Some suggestions to utilize the space are:
- Car parking space: With over 300 employees in your company it becomes mandatory to have a parking space within the campus.
- Green parks and benches: This will enhance the greenery quotient of the company and will provide space for your employees to relax during lunch.
- Sculpture of Logo: Most reputed companies have a sculpture of their logo constructed near to their entrance.
Conclusion
It could be concluded that although the construction of the company building is superior but a lot more is expected from its surrounding. The survey also brought to my notice that there is no justice done to the vast space available to your company.
Improper landscape could be harmful to your employees and cause losses to the company.
Keeping the report in mind, I strongly advise the managing committee of ASDA to set up a project plan with regards to improving its campus and allocate sufficient funds. Its successful implementation would be beneficial to your company.
