Expanding Access to Food Interview Plan

To increase the availability of food, given the lack of time, resources, and finances, it is necessary to conduct a survey among the unprotected part of the population using the services of food banks. This is how the maximum amount of information will be obtained with the minimum intervention. The list of questions was compiled in a way that is ethical and does not offend people who have to resort to the help of food banks. The list of questions is structured, and the order is determined by the importance of the questions for the study. Answers will be recorded using Excel spreadsheets to facilitate data analysis. This interview is to understand how many products should be provided to needy citizens and whether this list can be optimized by delivering only those products that are needed the most.

To ensure the speed of the interview and quick analysis of the results, the list of questions has been reduced to the most necessary. The first question people will hear is, “How often do you go to the food bank for help?” This question is intended to roughly estimate the minimum amount of food required by a population. The next question is: “Which categories of products do you need the most?” This question is designed to assess the composition of food banks to provide the population with the food they need. “How do you rate the current range of products at food banks?” This question aims to identify the possible needs of the population. It is assumed that by analyzing the responses received, it will be possible to reduce the costs of food banks in connection with the impending economic crisis by focusing on the necessary narrow food assortment.

Asking people who already use food banks may not be enough. Due to the deteriorating global environment, it is expected that more people will experience a decrease in income. To identify growing needs, it is necessary to expand interviews to more low-income families who may benefit from food banks in the future. In this case, the above questions will be adjusted by adding the subjunctive mood to them. The interview procedure involves choosing an object, determining the place and time of the interview, recording the answers, and finalizing the materials. To organize a successful interview, the methodology will include the right approach to the respondents. The topic of poverty is complex, so it is necessary to approach issues as ethically as possible. First of all, the participants will be informed about the project’s goals aimed at improving the availability of food and the quality of life. The interview assumes maximum anonymity and security of the interviewee. The questions are compiled as correctly as possible and are designed to encourage respondents to have a confidential conversation.

The interview includes several stages: identifying a suitable venue, the survey itself, analysis of the results, and the corresponding conclusions. There are always risks in interviewing; in this case, it is assumed that many may refuse to answer the question, and in this aspect, it is possible to fail. Respondents’ responses will be recorded at the site of the survey. The analysis of the results involves identifying several of the most popular and necessary product groups and the number of people who already use the services of food banks or will use them in the future. Identifying the actual number of those in need and the required assortment will help to calculate the costs of the existence of food banks correctly.
