It is essential to emphasize that the question of what influences people’s feelings or actions is one of the most archaic not only in philosophy but also in psychology. There are two various points of view on this issue; the first asserts that hereditary and natural factors determine the identity and actions of people (Ekstrom, 2018). A human being’s thoughts and behavior do not depend on a person’s will; this version is named determinism. Opponents of this theory argue that a person’s development, ideas, and actions are affected by the experience, social relationships, and the surrounding culture (Ekstrom, 2018). Thus, they maintain that individuals choose their own options for the development of activities and can change their lives. The primary challenge is that there is no consensus on which theory impacts people’s thoughts, behaviors, and feelings. Even today, different fields of psychology often apply one approach against the other. For example, biological psychology tends to focus on the significance of genetics and biological effects (Ekstrom, 2018). On the other hand, behaviorism emphasizes the influences of the environment on human behavior and feelings.
Consequently, the goal of the research paper is to explore the contributions of nature and nurture to human life. At the same time, it is essential to examine the debates concerning these two theories and the opinions of philosophers and psychologists. The practical research of scholars who have discussed and analyzed the impact of free will and determinism on actions and feelings should also be evaluated. Moreover, the study focuses on the interactions of these factors and determines how they combine to affect the individual. Based on the analysis of practical and theoretical aspects, the research paper will respond to which aspects influence a human being’s life.
