How Would You Define Addiction?

The attachment process occurs in people in different ways and under other circumstances. Most people do not even realize they are participating in such a process. The issue of addiction and attachment is common not only in certain circles of interest; such a topic is common in mass media, movies, songs, and so on. There are processes under addiction and affection: drugs, social networks, food, and people. Generally, a person can interpret dependence as a regular human habit.

First, it is worth considering servitude as a person’s desire to get what he needs. The problem with understanding addiction is that everyone interprets the concept and definition of the word differently (Peele, 1985). Very often, descriptions of craving are about attachment and desire. In addition, dependence does not only carry a negative meaning. It does not destroy an individual’s life, so fixation is a natural process that partially occupies a particular stage in a human’s life (Peele, 1985). It is worth separating and understanding that every function in a person’s life has its concept and will not permanently harm the future or life.

Essentially, it should be considered a natural process that does not bypass people. It is essential to understand that when addiction is formed, a biological process is often determined by processes in our body (Peele, 1985). Biological markers are present in every dependence, no matter what type of craving it is. Thus, intermittently, the clouding of consciousness and not realizing the same dependence. Therefore, very often, simple servitude also manifests itself, affecting psychological health and destroying it (Peele, 1985) because addiction is a process that involves not only consciousness but also the human body in general.

In this way, dependence manifests itself in every person and affects all processes, including human consciousness and biological processes. That is essential to understand that addiction does not always have a negative connotation. Forming a habit is difficult to recognize because it can often be confused with a person’s usual desires and needs. However, in any case, it is worth following personal habits and treating them if the need arises.
