Many of the essential teachings of Christian faith come from the parables, or short stories, that Jesus told. The key beliefs included lessons that persuaded individuals to love God and their neighbours as they would themselves (Matthew 22:37-39). Forgiving those that have wronged you is also a notable value and is reflected in another key lesson, that which dictates to love your enemies. It was also important to ask God forgiveness for your sins and that Jesus had the authority to teach these lessons and forgive others as he was the son of God and His messenger (1 Cor 15:9).
Asking for forgiveness for your sins was the first step, but it was essential to follow it up with repentance. Also, hypocrisy and judgement were dissuaded among believers of Christian faith. Perhaps the most crucial aspect of the key beliefs that were provided by Jesus included the statement that Heaven, or the kingdom of God, was near that it was for those that were otherwise treated unfairly, and not for the rich and powerful.
Many modern-day practices of Christians are based on these fundamentals as well as other Biblical insights. The practice of relinquishing control of one’s life to God can be achieved in reference to Biblical texts which claim that an individual did not have control to begin with, and this realization has merit. Praying for others is also common and is a reflection of Christian teachings that promote love, such as loving your own family, neighbours, or even your enemies. To avoid judgment and hypocrisy, some Christian attempt to be more attentive with their use of language and words in order to not hurt those they communicate with.
