Norway as a Country for Conducting Business

Perhaps one of the most picturesque countries on earth thanks to its mountainous landscape and the midnight sun in Norway, which is, in addition, an attractive destination for business ventures. Norway’s relatively small population does not impede the country’s purchasing power equals to the world’s largest economies due to its high standard of living. Norway is home to one of the highest GDP per capita rates in the world. Therefore, we conducted a little research on why Norway is a beautiful country for business-making.

Economically, Norway has a developed and stable market owing to substantial natural resources’ potential, productive business culture, and almost no corruption. Foreign investors are attracted by the country’s development opportunities, including oil, gas, telecommunications, and even seafood. The social factors also contribute to business attractiveness: Norwegian people adhere to decent values, including equality at the workplace, formal communication, and non-hierarchical relations. The government is now seeking to begin the transition to a more sustainable economic activity and is also trying to eliminate state ownership.

What is more, the country has longstanding business practices suitable for foreign businessmen. Namely, morning business meetings take place in the offices, the afternoon ones are usually arranged in the restaurants. Regular working hours are from 8 am to 4 pm. The main benefit is that Norwegians speak English and know Danish, Swedish, and German, which is excellent in terms of international negotiations. Moreover, Norwegians are ready to negotiate based on trust, and they are mainly interested in dealing with facts, innovations and not with personal skills. As a result, we recommend running a business in Norway since the country is well-developed in every area, contributing to efficient international connections.
