Choosing a profession is one of the most crucial decisions every individual makes in their life. Various factors, such as personality traits, knowledge, skills, and opportunities have to be considered when pursuing a specific career path. In addition, specialization should be beneficial for the person and society and stay in constant demand. Therefore, the following essay will explain why I would like to become a nurse by discussing several advantages of this profession.
One of the most obvious reasons for choosing to be a nurse is its influence on people’s lives. By communicating with the patients and their relatives, taking into account people’s needs and values, and monitoring health status, nurses make a massive contribution to the positive outcome of treatment programs. Furthermore, these specialists have an opportunity to volunteer and treat sick individuals who cannot afford hospital care (NurseJournal, 2020). Thus, since I would like to give back to the community and help others, nursing is the perfect career for me.
At the same time, nursing students do not have any problems when looking for a job after receiving their education. Healthcare is a stable industry that continually requires new specialists that can offer different perspectives on patient treatments. It is stated that the sphere of nursing included more than three million specialists in 2016, and the number is currently growing due to the rising demand for educated professionals (NurseJournal, 2020). Hence, my choice is based on the fact that I will always have opportunities for work and development.
To summarize, choosing a career path is a complicated task that requires people to engage in a specific thought process. While making a decision, one should consider not only personal preferences but also the status and advantages of a particular job.
