Customers are given the ability to administer and make use of online software products through Salesforce.com. Computing on the cloud is also sometimes referred to as computing on demand. The fact that subscribers to Salesforce.com are not required to purchase or maintain any software to preserve their data on the platform is a distinctive feature that sets Salesforce.com apart from its competitors. Using a computer browser or mobile phone, consumers can connect to saleforce.com. Ensuring that one’s device is connected to the internet allows the subscriber to save time and gain access quickly (Eason et al., 2019). Otherwise, businesses pay a monthly maintenance cost to Salesforce. Saleforce.com allows customers to tailor their software to the needs of their business. Users of Salesforce.com’s clouds can handle their data timelier and conveniently because of the availability of three distinct types of clouds: the Sales cloud, the service cloud, and the custom cloud. They can post or download their company’s information via smartphone or laptop.
The first challenge facing salesforce.com is the quality of data which it uses in its business. When a company uses insufficient data, it may lead to missing insights or reputational damage since it misleads its clients. Insufficient data also slows operations down leading to delays in operations and uncertainties. For this challenge, salesforce.com can meet these challenges by monitoring the data in their databases to identify and correct any incorrect data. It can also develop quality standards that it will use to effectively separate high-quality data from low quality data
Another challenge faced by salesforce.com is end-user training or the customers who use their services. To salesforce.com, customers are the most important aspect of any business. The company faces challenges in convincing companies to use their services given that there are already existing customer relationship management systems which performs similar functions. Salesforce.com can solve this challenge well by doing hands on training to their customers where they practice how to use the system as they also learn. It can also use scenario-based training where they teach their customers which actions to take in case a particular scenario occurs. Storage space is also another challenge the company faces which can be solved by buying additional storage space or deleting unwanted data from the system.
