Saratoga Hospital: General Care Patients

Saratoga hospital, located in New York, was founded by a group of women in the 19th century. The needs arose from insufficient healthcare facilities available for treatment. It is among the joint commission enterprise hospital that provides quality and improved healthcare through experienced expert clinicians. The hospital’s mission is to offer services to all the people of the Saratoga region by giving them access to professional support and a caring, healing environment. This essay discusses the organization of Saratoga hospital, including the safety committee measures to reduce risks, general members, and daily routines adopted to run the hospital effectively.

One of the safety committees Saratoga hospital uses is fire-safety management deficiencies, problems, and failures. The safety team members are responsible for securing the hospital premises from fire outbreaks by installing fire extinguishers, sprinklers, hydrants, and emergency exit doors (Moll et al., 2022). The facilities are checked regularly to ensure they are in good condition and ready for use. This reduces the risks within the organization by reducing associated injuries of the employees and patients. Further, the risk of building damage associated with fires is lowered.

The general members of the Saratoga hospital group comprise 21 voting members. They include nurses, educators, physicians, administrators, and safety, quality, and innovation experts (Mohr et al., 2022). Further, the board has appointed representatives from each of the Joint Commission’s Corporate Members: American College of Surgeons, American Hospital Association, American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, and American Dental Association. Additionally, there are seven other public representative members, Joint Commission President, an ex-officio member, and Chief Executive Officer. The group members meet monthly, and a regulatory requirement exists for publishing notes. The notes are posted on the hospital website for meaningful performance and certification to the public.

These meetings indicate good staff time since they share their needs and preferences. Further, the problems facing them in their workplace can be shared, and possible solutions implemented. Alternatively, another method that can address the employee’s goals includes a teamwork approach. In this strategy, all the group members will share their skills and expertise in improving their competencies. Team leaders will be responsible for overseeing the effectiveness of future plans that can be implemented for efficiency.
