“Sleep, Health, and Wellness at Work”: Article Analysis

The source under analysis is a scholarly article that focuses on how sleep impacts individual health and wellness. Synthesizing this study is not an elementary process because it is necessary to read 18 pages and understand their content. That is why it will be reasonable to make some notes to emphasize the most important information while reading. They will help synthesize the article and be useful when it comes to presenting the content of the source to peers. Thus, the presentation process will entirely rely on these notes.

I want my group members to know a few essential aspects regarding the study under analysis. It is necessary to admit that sufficient sleep positively affects the quality of life. Simultaneously, I would clarify that sleep problems can lead to mental health issues, impaired cognitive function, increased stress levels, high cardiovascular risks, and others (Magnavita & Garbarino, 2017). I believe that these data perfectly match what the group members need to know. It is so because these literature findings explicitly indicate that there is a direct connection between sleep and people’s wellness and health. The peers should also need to know that they can improve their well-being by devoting more time to sleep.

However, the information above can only reach the group members if it is shared clearly and concisely. That is why I will not use any long quotations from the study by Mangavita and Garbarino (2017). Instead of it, my speech will include specific facts that explain the authors’ points of view, and an example of this approach is present in the previous paragraph. I will avoid using long sentences and terminology to ensure that the peers do not have any difficulties understanding the message. Finally, it will be suitable to invite the group members to the discussion to make sure that the content is straightforward for them.
