Quality education and zero hunger intersect since the former is responsible for countering the latter’s effects. The youths have a critical role in how quality education can end hunger. Despite being vulnerable, they are responsible for changing how different problems are faced, among them hunger. Quality education is responsible for promoting rights-based and accountable efforts toward achieving development for all (Behera et al., 2020). However, the lack of quality education makes it difficult to account for the poor use of the available resources. Further, hunger degrades people, and the only way to distribute wealth worldwide is by achieving quality education (Machado and Davim, 2022). Therefore, the two goals intersect since ensuring the youths are properly educated is the foundation through which the youths can utilize the available resources to produce quality food and overcome the effects of hunger.
The achievement of zero hunger, the second sustainable development goal, is critical since it helps deal with undernourishment, making people less productive and increasing their likelihood of diseases. With this, people have difficulty improving their living standards and raising their income (Behera et al., 2020). Addressing quality education, SDG 4 is responsible for the mentioned improvement since it helps people learn about farming and food industries and their vital role in hunger and poverty elimination (Machado and Davim, 2022). Underlying structures of poverty can be fought with high education. Through it, people understand the significance of acquired skills like numeracy, writing, and reading, which are responsible for improving the population’s income (Machado and Davim, 2022). Moreover, addressing the issue of quality education changes food insecurity structures. Education is an essential part in fighting hunger since it forms new ways of eliminating global issues by providing critical skills and knowledge to youth that they will implement in the future.
