Three major problems in the United States are racism, unwise food consumption, and lack of empathy, given the domination of capitalistic views. First, discrimination by the factor of race is one of the most urgent issues of American society as it significantly reduces the opportunities for the development of the nation. It affects people’s ability to work and study by limiting the scope of possible activities, and hence innovations. It also impacts their well-being as being judged or rejected solely based on origin harms mental health (Leon-Guerrero, 2019). Second, people use the products unwisely; thus, much food ends up in the garbage cans. Moreover, the spread of fast-food chains in the country and the wide population’s tendency to consume junk food pose a problem for the medical sphere. Obesity is the reason for the increasing number of cardiovascular diseases, which is the leading cause of death in the country (Leon-Guerrero, 2019). Third, in a society ruled by capitalistic laws, it is hard to live for impaired people and those with disabilities. They do not have the opportunity to lead a fulfilling life because of the shortage of their income. As a result, the quality of life in society is deficient for them.
The global society faces such problems as a lack of cooperation in solving global issues, gender inequality, and hunger. The first difficulty disrupts an effective solution for general well-being. It is historically evident that individual governments and nations failed to work together to tackle the problem of global warming adequately. A similar situation happened with addressing the COVID-19 pandemics. The countries could not work together efficiently to prevent the spread of the virus, which became the reason for death and complications for many people around the world. The next significant problem in the world is the gender inequality present in most developing countries. Similar to racism, it limits the capacity of the world’s possible evolution and violates fundamental human rights (Leon-Guerrero, 2019). Last but not least, hunger is the primary reason for child death in Africa and the Middle East. Hunger and starvation are the most significant hazards to global health — greater than AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis altogether.
The main reason for gender inequality around the world is the historical tendency of different cultures. First, women were historically stereotyped as weak and sensitive creatures incapable of performing an adequate work level (Moeller, 2018). Next, as a result, some religions and cultural customs limit females’ rights and violate their fundamental human rights for freedom of speech, living, education, and medical care. Third, capitalism also oppresses women’s rights by paying them less money for the same labor than for men (Moeller, 2018). This tendency forces them to stay home as housewives rather than go to work for companies. The hierarchy which is established in society dictates the economic functions of each gender (Moeller, 2018). Fourth, the lack of addressing the government parties’ problem stimulates even more significant deterioration of the situation. Last, psychological oppression of the female constituent of society makes it difficult to solve the problem as women tend to keep their struggles secret. To tackle this issue, there should be propaganda for equality in gender relations. The programs for female education are also helpful as they are stimulating and motivating young girls to rise despite the traditional stereotypes. As for me, I try to regard people equally, no matter what their gender is and help them as much as I can.
