Friedman (2010) observed that Washington government had financed the building of national parks to be used for baseball redevelopment. This development was attributed to the fact that urban regions within the USA had financed the construction of baseball stadiums consistently prior to strategic developmental plans in the year 2005. While designing the new construction within the parks, HOK Sports’ architects represented an iconic development of sports in relation to national democracy. The design of the iconic structure was retrieved from the state of the city as a capital and the democratic stature of its citizens. In this light, the research used the ideas founded in Lefebvre’s (1991b) invention of space to evaluate the powers involving the cultural and spatial formation. The hypothesis created to initiate the research strategies stated that the design of architects illustrated the life events of the capitalist through controlling socialization, consuming, and producing aesthetics instead of forming a general liberty. In this regard, the parks exempted and discriminated individuals depending on their social classes and visitation while residents were neglected. This aspect implied that the parks’ management discriminated the less-privileged individuals. The research evaluation was based on literature assessment where particulate attention was paid to the Lefebvre’s perspective as argued by most analyst and empirical researchers. The processing of information involved such techniques as articulation interviews, observation, experience, and intentions in regard to the public. The researcher concluded that provision of space for the construction of stadium was not transparent and democratic in nature. He argued that the parks were national resources that should have remained democratically usable before and after the stadium was constructed.
The research is presented in an organized format through referring to the standard forms of empirical evaluations. It provides the backgrounds, literatures, methods, and conclusion among other information pertinent in such studies. Secondary and primary sources of data and information have been used adequately to affirm the state of the reform developed within the article. Furthermore, it is an informative paper with adequate resources used to approve claims. The flow and step-to-step test of the hypothesis is also evident from the methods of data collection and the final outcome. However, the research has been setup as an empirical study without reliable methods of data collection. The sample populations are not quantified within the methodology. Instead, the researcher points out the methods used without proving their validity and randomization. Furthermore, data collection that targets the intentions of the researcher as envisaged in the methodology may be biased.
This research has fundamental information that can be used in my future research topic. The study has raised issues regarding the use of public resources for projects that do not benefit the community. This factor relays a message that there is a fundamental need for understanding the purpose of community involvement in issues that affect them. In this respect, the sporting activities especially involving the use of public resources and funding must be performed after the approval of the community. Otherwise, such developments may not be established for the benefit of the nation. When such involvements are considered in the overall sporting management, such controversies from the residents can cease to appear within the nation. In fact, it may allow the public to gain confidence and initiate a tradition of trust in the governmental management of national resources.
