Building a Training Framework for the Staff
Protecting the digital content of The Walt Disney Company is relevant because it will prevent attacks from cybercriminals. In this case, it is right that digital content should be safeguarded through relevant security strategies to protect data. Therefore, the best intervention mechanism will be to build a robust training framework for the company’s staff to enhance cyber security skills. In any organization, proper staff training is the best solution to the problems that may face the company, particularly the issues regarding cybersecurity or cybercrime.
The Walt Disney Company’s IT and HR departments have the cardinal duty to ensure that all the employees are trained on all matters about the security issues of cybercrime. In this scenario, it is relevant to organize training sessions for all the employees to comprehend the manipulative tendencies used by cybercriminals to steal or damage digital information. In addition, the promotion of knowledge-sharing mechanisms among the staff is a perfect way of accumulating relevant skills in the team. Such an undertaking will help the personnel have the requisite experiences to prevent the potential external threat.
Implementing Appropriate Security Mechanisms
Once the staff is trained on safeguarding the organization against cybercriminals, the next relevant step is to implement some appropriate security mechanisms to protect the company’s digital content from social engineering (Ghafir et al., 2018). The IT, HR, and operations departments must ensure that a successful training program and the security mechanism are implemented. Therefore, this stage will require purchasing the most critical digital equipment, which is tailored to provide a comprehensive safeguard of online information. The software should incorporate software such as anti-virus tools and a firewall.
An effective implementation policy of the cyber security program will only be successful with an elaborate collaborative mechanism between departments’ line managers and the IT manager. For example, the departments’ line manager will be crucial in advising the IT manager on decisions in their respective departments (Ghafir et al., 2018). Therefore, if there are any exposures in their departments, such departmental section heads will advise accordingly so that the IT department can respond. Applying an AI-based platform to help in decision-making will be a countermeasure to enhance digital data security.
Promoting Digital Literacy among the Targeted Customers
The customers form a critical part of the organization because without them, the company would not succeed or meet its organizational goals and objectives. Therefore, it is necessary to create a framework or project that will help promote digital literacy (Ghafir et al., 2018). In this case, the sales and marketing departments will work closely to satisfy the customers’ needs. The target audience of the Walt Disney Company happens to be children and adults, and they should have the necessary knowledge on how to avoid threats related to cybercriminals.
An effective collaborative mechanism between IT, sales, and marketing departments will help streamline what needs to be done as the provision of digital literacy is concerned. For example, the IT department will provide a mechanism for the clients to be trained to safeguard their accounts from cyber-attacks (Ghafir et al., 2018). Henceforth, the sales and marketing departments will have a duty to disseminate the information to their clients on how to safeguard their data. For example, it will be crucial to train customers on how they can safeguard their accounts through the required authentication methods.
