It provides reliable information on the crucial topic of abortion due to its current year of publication. An article published several years ago is unreliable since the information might have changed. The world is dramatically changing due to technology, and therefore, information also is evolving. So many changes have been made on the perceptions and policies related to abortion hence, the need to use current sources with reliable and updated information.
Marge Berer is a sophisticated author who has been superintending the International Campaign for Women’s Right to Safe Abortion from the year 2015. She is the founder and has been the Reproductive Health Matters journal editor from 1992 to 2015. Also, Marge Berer was the co-founder and the chairperson of the steering committee overseeing the International Consortium for Medical Abortion from 2002 up to 2011. For instance, it explains how safe abortion needs to be treated like any other type of normal health care practice hence, supporting my argument of legalizing abortion in certain scenarios (Berer, 2017). The article is valuable since it has thorough discussions and results on the topic of abortion across various countries in the world. For example, it explains the laws and policies of many countries ranging from Canada, Brazil, Colombia, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, amongst others. In addition, the article provides explanations on various grounds under which abortion should be legalized. According to Berer (2017), abortion should be legalized when the mother’s life is at risk due to rape, fetal development abnormality, eco, due to the economic crisis, and on mother’s request. Such exceptional grounds to allow abortion legalization to back up my argument.
