The products and industry in which the company operates are described in detail in the addresses of shareholders and the board of directors, where they explain the company’s operations (Form 10-K 2022 4; 8). The company’s fiscal year ended on December 31, which is reflected in all economic indicators.
Basic Types of Cash Flow
These primarily include three main types of financial flows: Operating Cash Flow (OCF), Investing Cash Flow (ICF), and Financing Cash Flow (FCF). The first indicator explains cash generated or used by Amazon’s core business operations. ICF represents cash generated from investments, and the last indicator demonstrates cash flows from activities related to the company’s capital structure. These financial flows are prepared in a sequential order because they reflect the natural flow of cash within a company’s operations, investments, and financing activities.
Total Assets, Liabilities, and Equity
The company’s total assets are on page 39 of the report and equal to $462,675 (Form 10-K 2022). On page 39, there is also data on liabilities, which equal $155,393 (Form 10-K 2022). Another important indicator is equity on page 39, which is $146,043. Assets = Liability + Equity can be demonstrated by adding the amounts of all liabilities, including long-term ones, such as $72,968, $67,150, and $21,121 (Form 10-K 2022 39). All values total $462,675. As of the financial year under study, the company did not have net income but had a loss of 2,722 (Form 10-K 2022 36).
