THESIS: Although Arizona and Texas have differences such as nicknames, different touristic places to visit, economic fact sheets, they also have many things in common; the similarities between Arizona and Texas conclude in their weather which is hot and dry, in their location in the border with Mexico, common historical periods and events and cultural features.
Differences between the geographical location of Arizona and Texas
Comparing two states, it is necessary to take a look at their geographical location, history of the state, demographic situation, economy, culture, education, and many other peculiarities. Although Arizona and Texas have differences such as nicknames, different touristic places to visit, economic fact sheets, they also have many things in common; the similarities between Arizona and Texas conclude in their weather which is hot and dry, in their location in the border with Mexico, common historical periods and events and cultural features.
Economical incomes of two states
Arizona is a very interesting place to visit due to its geographical location. Millions of people come to visit Grand Canyon and other fabulous places in this area. One of the major unique qualities is the nickname of state, in the case of Arizona, it is the Grand Canyon State. The state is located in the southwestern region being a part of the Western United States and the Mountain West States. Despite Arizona, Texas is located in the South Central United States and mostly associated with the Southwestern deserts. Texas’s major quality is its huge territory that makes the state the second largest in the country. Despite Arizona, axis has tree natural borders: river Rio Grande as the border with Mexico, the red River – with Oklahoma and Arkansas and the Sabine River – with Louisiana.
Similarities between Arizona and Texas
Comparing the facts about population, income, food insecurity, and employment of both states, one can notice that both states demonstrate different indices of population. Thus, in 2011, population of Arizona was 6,482,505, including 682,431 of rural and 5,800,074 urban citizens (“State Fact Sheets: Arizona”). On the other hand, the population of Texas is more numerous. In 2011, there were 25,674,681 citizens, including 3,075,379 rural and 22,599,302 urban (“State Fact Sheets: Texas”).
Income in Taxis in 2009 was $38,609 with poverty rate 17.9 in 2010, while such indices in Arizona were $33,207 of income and 17.6 of the poverty rate. Thus, although two states have different resources, economical incomes of two states are similar.
Although two states have differences, there are also several similarities between them. Both states are located in the south part of the country and both share the international border with Mexico. The weather of these states usually hot and dry and, as a result, the geographical landscape of the states is similar. The territory of Texas contains deserts, prairie, mountains, and forests. Arizona’s main touristic values are mountains, valleys, plateaus, and canyons. Historically, two states took part in the same events such as the Mexican-American War and, of course, the American Civil War. However, Texas became a part of the United States in 1861, while Arizona did it only in 1912.
Conclusions
It is well-known fact that Arizona is a state of Grand Canyon, while Texas is the second-largest state of the U.S. Of course, economical indices of both states may vary due to the different territory and natural resources; however, there is one evident issue that makes both states similar. The main similarity between the two states is their nationality. Both states are parts of one country. Their citizens share the same national values and traditions. Both states grow the population of patriots not only their states but the whole country.
