Introduction
Nursing informatics is useful in taking precautions early through the identification of patients with a high likelihood of serious conditions. Its automated alerts help in minimizing the possibility of medical errors thereby improving patient care among nursing practitioners (Role et al., 2021). Project management is needed for making the workflow among nurses more efficient and enhancing care in nursing. When systematic phases are employed in project management, costly mistakes can be eradicated thus saving time and increasing quality.
Discussion
Nursing informatics aligns with technology as it supports data analysis and helps providers in identifying trends and developing solutions for decision-making. Nursing informatics helps in analyzing extensive data for identifying solutions that enable nurses to deliver quality care and find solutions in a more cost-effective way thus making it to be beyond just data collection and analysis (Mosier et al., 2019). Artificial intelligence is used to support decision-making, for example, one can use a scheduling package to allot workers in an organization or, use technology to collect data and then make decisions about patient care from the data collected.
Project management helps in the planning, execution, valuation, and optimization of projects in nursing informatics thus ensuring consistency while providing measurable outcomes in healthcare. The concepts and competencies of project management may therefore assist me in planning and implementing my DNP project. Nursing informatics is valuable as it helps in eliminating medical errors thus it will enable me to have improved patient outcomes and thus better care during my clinical practice. Nursing informatics is also important in other areas including public health, bioinformatics, and pharmacy.
Conclusion
Project management as a discipline is important in some other areas including quality control, strategic alignment, and process definition. Project management aligns with technology by using software to centralize documents, prepare budgets and schedules, and receive updates to ensure that deadlines are maintained (Ammenwerth & Hackl, 2019). Project management aligns with daily practices and other processes since everyone needs to apply their knowledge and skills systematically to execute activities effectively and achieve desired outcomes. For example, when one needs to buy a new car, one must consider the price range, time of delivery, and vehicle specifications, and all these are part of project management. I see project management as an organizational framework since it has lifecycle processes, project tools, and outputs.
