Physical and technological border wall along the southern side will help detect and halt drug flow and terror activities. This wall will confine the chances of terrorists smuggling weapons across the south side and launching fatal attacks. The wall will protect their freedoms by refraining bad people and keeping good ones. It will also restrict the overflow of immigrants inside the USA, according to the immigration federation (ProCon.org.). They argue that the estimated cost of standing that wall is much lesser than the cost US is incurring through illegal immigration in the long run. To the cons, it shall be catastrophic for wildlife movements. Most of the animals in North America evolved from the southern part and migrated for reproduction and seasonality for millions of years. This permanent wall will interfere with the wildlife of the country. The construction will be costly for long miles, provided the natural terrain of the region. The wall keeps people out and restricts others who could want to return to their countries; thus, it will not decrease the country’s expense in immigrants as proclaimed. These points directly impact the economic growth of the country; therefore, they need to be considered before the commencement of building.
In my opinion, despite physical and technological border wall cons, it is remarkably advantageous to countries that experience inflation of immigrants and constant terror woes. Please take a look at the Israel border wall and how it immensely helped them reduce attacks from their enemies. Border walls are not a mark of racial segregation or fearfulness of the government to curb its woes but a smart move to reduce them. It saves on costs of guarding the boundaries in the long run and surely should be implemented if conditions demand.
