Healthy eating has already become a significant trend in modern human life. Much attention is paid to children’s dietary habits, so schools and professional organizations are eager to participate in research and discussions. Either kids or adults need a number of healthy nutrients, but the difference is that adults know the benefits and threats of diets, and children have to improve their knowledge. This project will focus on analyzing information children obtain from school health programs to enhance healthy eating. The main research question is, “What information about nutrition and eating habits do schools offer to promote health among children?”.
The idea of this study is to investigate what schools offer to their children in terms of nutrition and health. The hypothesis is that at this moment, schools develop a number of health programs and interventions for children to promote their lifelong healthy eating. A systematic review is a study design of this project. It is expected to work with such databases as PubMed, CINAHL, and MEDLINE and choose relevant publications within the last five years. Such search terms as “nutrition,” “health,” “diet,” “school,” and “children” will be used alone or in combinations.
This study on child nutrition and health will be discussed through the prism of school education and the impact that teachers and administrators could potentially have on children. Healthy diets are based on specific nutrient-dense food, including fruits, vegetables, and grains. The worth of this research project is the possibility to identify the essence of child nutrition, its relation to human health, and school contributions to the improvement of child health. There are many recommendations and bans for children to follow and understand their health needs and the impact of nutrition in their life, and this research project aims at systematically examining school programs.
