Communication Problems in Healthcare Attendants

Summary

Research is necessary for nursing staff because it improves their occupation, keeps them updated, and advances healthcare quality. Caregivers who have basic literacy skills can make better use of knowledge to come to their own decisions. However, several problems facing nursing practice can hinder service delivery. This paper will examine some of the primary consequences of poor interaction in the medical industry and offer solutions for enhancing staff engagement and patient information delivery.

Overview of the Problem

The main problem I have observed in nursing is poor communication which usually happens when transferring a person’s care to another nurse during a shift change. The probability of medical mistakes occurring during the transition is very high due to insufficient, erroneous, or unclear information. Poor interaction may cause ill people to receive faulty operations, medication, or important examinations and treatments to be delayed, all of which may affect an individual’s results. The issue is urgent enough to demand the focus of medical professionals and that of the population (Ali & Watson, 2018). Factors that lead to poor patient interactions include insufficient informed consent, imprecise follow-up directives, misunderstanding caused by communication barriers, and incorrect information provided to the patient.

The Need to Research on Communication Problem

There is a need to research poor communication in nursing because conversation is the primary way that caregivers engage with their patients so that they may assess their emotions. Interaction between ill individuals and the nursing staff must be excellent to facilitate information (Ali & Watson, 2018). Through proper communication, nurses can grasp the desires of the patient hence resulting in good service delivery.

Rational and Support

Effective communication aids caregivers and patients to be in control of situations because it can prevent negative emotions and stress among the clients. Due to interaction, individuals can recognize that they still have a voice and control their personal life. Proper communication aid patient to a share their problems with others when they can foster values amongst themselves (Ali & Watson, 2018). Patients will feel respected and become more confident when the nurses value them. Therefore, having effective communication skills promotes better patient and nurse interaction.
