Have you ever asked yourself about how life appeared on Earth? This question has always been at the center of attention. For many years, there have been debates about whether life was created by God, as described in the Bible, or if it has a more scientific explanation, according to Darwin’s theory of evolution. Each idea has strengths and weaknesses, as well as a large number of supporters. However, the arguments about the world’s beginning, the complexity of life, and some scientific facts prove that evolution is not the most certain explanation. In my opinion, the theory of creation is the most accurate and convincing, and this essay will describe my point of view.
The first argument in favor of the divine creation of life is that it explains how life began. The Bible demonstrates the logical and organized order of creating the world, including day and night, nature, and other things not mentioned by Darwin. For example, the beginning of the world is described as the creation of “the heavens and the earth” by God (Gen. 1.1). Human beings appeared on the sixth day, after the creation of water, sky, flora and fauna, and other elements of life (Gen. 1.27). At the same time, in science, there is no single theory of how Earth appeared. Some people say about the Big Bang, while others mention the extraterrestrial origin of life. Therefore, Genesis is the only source that traces the world back to its beginning.
The second argument supporting the theory of creation is that many things in life are very complex and cannot be described by science. For example, DNA and its complicated structure is something that Darwinists cannot explain clearly. In science, there is a theory of “chemical evolution,” which teaches how the first living cell developed from chemical elements (Lerch 26). However, the complex arrangement of these elements in DNA still causes debates among scientists (Lerch 26). Other examples of complexity are connected to how humans perceive the world. Engineers have never been able to create television screens with the quality of the human eye. Similarly, there is still no device producing a sound with the same quality perceived by the human ear. In addition to these senses, intuition and telepathy are something that is very difficult to study (Umer 14). These mysteries show that certain things and features are unlikely to appear because of evolution but could be created.
Finally, an important advantage of Genesis is how it describes the creation of a human. According to the Bible, the first humans, Adam and Eve, were created on the sixth day and had the appearance of modern people. Darwin’s theory contradicts this idea: according to the naturalist, humans evolved from apes and were developing slowly. For example, he mentioned Homo habilis (“handy man”), Homo sapiens (“wise man”), and Homo erectus (“upright man”), who developed from one another (Umer 13). However, archeological findings, such as fossils, prove that there were no intermediate forms of life. Moreover, paleoanthropologists found that humans’ ancestors mentioned above could exist at the same time on the same territory (Umer 13). Therefore, it seems more convincing that a modern human was created rather than developed from other forms of life.
Despite the significant number of arguments in favor of creation, another theory, evolution, has many supporters around the world. Charles Darwin described this theory in detail in his scientific work On the Origin of Species. According to his findings, populations evolved over generations through natural selection. Indeed, there are scientific proofs that organisms adapted their morphology, genes, and chemical structures to their environment (Deniz and Borgerding 396). Besides, the variety of spices and their unique features show how they change according to their habitat. Moreover, in anthropology, there is evidence that some species existed earlier but disappeared because they were not able to survive. Even though this idea of natural selection seems logical, scientists themselves agree that evolution has never been proved (Darwing and the Theory of Evolution 1). For example, anthropologists still argue whether humans developed from apes since there is no intermediate human form found in fossils (Umer 12). Therefore, many questions about the nature of the world remain unanswered by science.
In conclusion, it is possible to say that the origin of life on Earth is a difficult issue that has not been solved yet. At the same time, the theory of creation seems to be more accurate and convincing than evolution. First of all, it explains how the world was created before the appearance of humans. Secondly, there are things that are still unclear for scientists, such as the complex structure of DNA and humans’ senses. Finally, it is still not proved that humans appeared through evolution; moreover, archeological findings deny this idea. I think that divine creation is what explains these mysteries, even though Darwin’s theory remains the most popular. I believe that more attention should be paid to the idea of creation because it may help humans answer many of their questions.
