Strategies
Organizations formulate vision statements that guide them toward achieving the set goals and targets. Since organizations vary from each other in terms of duties performed and targets in the society they operate in, vision statements also vary. For instance, “Working on Poverty” is an organization based in New York, but most of its operations are primarily executed in selected African countries. The vision for the organization is “We are on a mission to eradicate poverty.” The strategies utilized by the organization include ensuring people get at least three meals in the selected countries and ensuring that young children get balanced diets to enhance their health and well-being (Pierce, 2018). Strategies help an organization plan the measures to undertake to realize the organization’s vision statement (Pierce, 2018). Organizations that do not have strategies to guide them in achieving their vision statement perform dismally in their operations. Therefore, organizations should have clear strategies for achieving their vision statements.
Objectives
The organization “Working on Poverty” has adopted several objectives to help in achieving its vision statement. One of the objectives adopted by the organization is funding communities in the countries affected by poverty to do farming. In particular, the organization drills boreholes in dry areas and provides all the equipment needed for irrigation (Alonso et al., 2019). Besides, the organization provides hunger-stricken communities with farm inputs and education on using them to increase their productivity. The other objective adopted by the organization is sourcing balanced diets for young children to deter them from developing illnesses that result from unbalanced diets. Objectives help define goals, spot incompatible actions, direct key decision-making steps, and guarantee employee accountability within a company (Alonso et al., 2019). Goal displacement frequently happens in the absence of well-defined goals and accompanying objectives. Therefore, objectives in an organization should be well-defined and realistic to help organizations attain their goals and targets.
Tasks
Since the organization operates in more than African countries, the amount of food items needed is enormous and requires excellent coordination of tasks and duties to meet the demand. To ensure good coordination and execution of duties, the organization trains the young people in the affected communities on modern-day farming. Besides the training, the organization pays monthly wages to every young person willing to participate in agriculture and other duties towards eradicating poverty in the communities (da Costa et al., 2019). The organization supervises all the training and monitoring of duties assigned to the willing young persons in the community through its staff, who work under a general manager in every country selected. Due to proper coordination and a clear vision, the organization has produced enough food items to feed all the affected communities in the ten hunger-stricken countries in Africa. Therefore, proper assigning of tasks helps organizations to achieve great results.
The linkage between Strategies, Objectives, Tasks, and Vision in Accomplishing the vision
There is a close linkage between strategies, objectives, tasks, and a vision statement for an organization. The vision statement for an organization defines all other activities because an unrealistic vision statement leads to poor performance. If the vision statement is well-formulated, it becomes easy for an organization to push toward achieving its goals and targets. After formulating a clear vision statement, an organization lays down strategies to assist it in achieving it (da Costa et al., 2019). Strategies entail the general measures adopted by the organization that must be followed by specific and measurable plans, referred to as objectives. Objectives entail the specific desired results, which mount into helping an organization achieve its vision statement. To get reliable results from the objectives set by an organization, assigning tasks must be done well and to the people with the necessary expertise. Therefore, the strategies, objectives, tasks, and visions of an organization generally define the success of the organization.
