- Working Thesis: Apart from the fact that domestic violence is one of the most common social problems, one cannot underestimate the role of healthcare institutions in resolving this matter, as this problem has a direct impact on public health.
- Angle: The increasing levels of domestic violence pertain to various social factors, including the lack of awareness of the consequences of domestic violence and ownership of weapons. Nonetheless, this paper discovers this aspect not only from a social perspective but also from the angle of healthcare since this social issue causes the development of different illnesses, including depression.

- The importance of the Topic: This topic is critical to discover since the World Health Organization highlights that 35% of women are exposed to violence at least once in their lives (Meffert, McCulloch, Neylan, Gandhi, & Lund, 2015). At the same time, domestic violence has an adverse impact on public health, as several researchers found a connection between this social issue and depression (Meffert et al., 2015). These aspects depict that this problem is of paramount importance since it is widespread and has a negative impact on the health of individuals.
- The importance of the Scholar: Apart from being relatively new to the research field, I will attempt to reveal new insights and discover the topic of domestic violence from an angle of healthcare. I will base my theoretical framework on these ideas of Meffert et al. (2015) and Usta, Antoun, Ambuel, and Khawaja (2012). This aspect will make my research credible with a well-developed knowledge base.
Audience
- Primary Audience: In the first place, the study will aim at scholars, nursing colleagues, and healthcare institutions since they can implement the proposed strategies and continue the research.
- Secondary Audience: Alternatively, the research will target the professor and fellow students.
- Skepticism of the Audience: I believe that the audience will share my values since domestic violence is one of the devastating social aspects, and it tends to have a negative effect on public health.

The gathered information tends to support my angle, as many scholars believe that this issue has a negative effect on public health while causing depression among female victims (Meffert et al., 2015). Simultaneously, many women do not report abuse due to criticism (Usta et al., 2012). A combination of these factors implies that intervention of healthcare institutions is vital since domestic violence is a public health problem.
Research to be Conducted
This research will require collecting different types of information about various factors that cause the development of domestic violence. This data will be highly important since it will help design effective prevention strategies that can be implemented by healthcare institutions and other governmental authorities. Simultaneously, the research will focus on different interventions that can be introduced to decrease the levels of domestic violence and its impact on public health. It will be portrayed by referring to statistical facts about this social problem and dissimilar opinions of the experts. I will present the opposing view with the help of expert opinions concerning the absence of a connection between domestic violence and healthcare.
Conclusion
I propose that it is necessary to focus on the development of healthcare programs and interventions. These matters are believed to reduce domestic violence and improve public health. Focusing on the development of various strategies such as healthcare support and educational programs will help address this problem from an entirely different angle. It will be more effective than discovering domestic violence as a social issue solely. Nonetheless, before starting the research, it is necessary to expand the understanding of the topic and get the approval of the relevance of the opposing views, as, otherwise, it will be impossible to discover this theme from a dissimilar perspective.
