Types of Healthcare Providers

The three main types of healthcare providers are; hospitals, nursing homes, and home healthcare. Hospitals are institutions that patients visit to acquire health services. Nursing homes, on the other hand, are used by patients who do not need to visit the hospital but require special care from the nurses at home (Wammes et al., 2018). Home Health care also refers to providing various health services to the patients in their homes.

Nursing homes only monitor the condition of the patient at their homes and guide the patient when sick (Wammes et al.,2018). Home Health care also provides a variety of health services to the patients at home.

Types of Health care users

Private payers are individuals who use visit private healthcare institutions when seeking healthcare services. Public payers are individuals who visit public health care institutions when seeking health care services (Wammes et al.,2018). Uninsured users are individuals who lack healthcare insurance when seeking healthcare services.

How Health Providers are paid

Hospitals

Most public hospitals are managed by the government; hence the fees paid by patients are transferred to the national government, which later pays doctors and nurses as per their salaries. Patients with insurance coverage can also present their insurance details to cover their health services.

Nursing Homes

Nursing home services can be paid for privately by the individual or the health insurance cover.

Home Healthcare

Home healthcare can be paid through self-pay since the services are conducted at home.
