Introduction

Health Care management is a very essential tool in the overall successful running of the institutions which offer health care services to patients. The Health Care administrators have a major role in the operation of the hospital facilities as they participate in coordinating and organizing the financing and delivery of care services and assisting in the supervision of health amenities. In order for the Patients to be satisfied with the health care services offered in hospital centers, it is important to develop a good interrelationship between the organization’s key players who comprise hospital management, physicians and patients. This is by the fact that the patient’s satisfaction captures the patients’ experience of health care services external to most direct effects on good physical condition and thus allows him/her to acknowledge and adapt his/her role as a partner in a successful health care system and thus reflecting on the patient-centeredness care (The Princeton Review 2008). The patients are also presented with insightful perceptions of interpersonal associations and services within the institution’s administration at large. By considering the hospital capability of allocation of the available resources such as funds from sponsors, drugs and the great asset of the health care organizations which is the patient themselves. The medical doctors should exhibit good communication behaviors and skills to their patients because this is an important contributor to their satisfaction in both the in-patient and outpatient hospital situation (Sarah L. et al. 2008). Therefore in order for hospitals to achieve a successful provision of health care facilities and offer quality services to satisfy the needy patients, there should be an integral participation of all these stakeholders.

The role of health services / health care administrator in a critical perspective

The role of health service managers in hospitals for successful running of the organization is usually broad and varied from one area to another depending on the size and operations of the specific hospital. In a critical perspective, much of the health care facility management depends largely on the available resources within hospitals, in the process of coordinating the financing and the delivery of the health care services in these hospitals. Hospital administrators evaluate the need for services, tools and human resources and also create recommendations concerning the growth or curbing of services and the establishment of fresh or supporting facilities. The overseeing of conformity with government agencies and regulations also is implemented and coordinated by the health care facility organizations. Other low level administrators in large hospital facilities make available sustenance in the implementation of top-level decisions (the Princeton Review 2008). Depending on expertise and experience of health care facility administrator, some of them are allowed to supervise the activities of clinical units for instance in nursing or surgery and some of them direct the operations of non-health areas such as employees, economics and community associations.

The duties and responsibilities of healthcare managers in the nursing homes, outpatient health agencies and other smaller in-patient facilities are vast and varied, as they put on multiple responsibilities in departments such as human resources, economics and operations including all the patient admissions. Clinical managers in many health organizations possess some health related specializations and can therefore supervise these specific medical services in the health care business. There is an initial undertaking of job-specific training concerned with implementing policies and events in their departments, whilst coordinating their activities with other management units (The Princeton review 2008). Decisions on guiding principles do not fall in the purview of managers for little group practices, but bigger groups generally keep hold of services of a full-time bureaucrat who not only coordinates actions daily but as well as develops and implements business strategies. They identify challenges and factors that drive healthcare managers in embracing and giving champion support to progress efficient communication via provision of language services and culturally proficient health care. Patient satisfaction on the health services provided usually do not auger well with communication skills of clinicians, as their feedback is dependent on the outcome they attain after receiving their treatment (Sarah L. Clever et al. 2008).

Conclusion

It is necessary to have these medical and health services managers as they are important in planning, directing and coordinating delivery of health care services in clinics, doctor’s offices, hospitals, and other health care amenities. They ensure achievement of the hospital’s progress through their tasking responsibilities which vary from managing human resources, budgeting to purchasing equipment and enhancement of patient satisfaction from the clinical health services rendered (Amy Wilson-Stronks, MPP, CPHQ 2008). They propagate recognition on impact that language, health literacy and culture can have on patient safety and care, and thus formulate the action to be taken in improving verbal communication services and culturally proficient care as a way of improving patient expression. It enables the hospital organization to apply accessible tools and resources to evaluate and advance the organization’s capacity to attain needs of assorted populations in the community.
