Large Companies as Entrepreneurs

In the conditions of modern competition, the compliance of the internal environment of the company with the growing market requirements is the most important factor of successful activity. It causes the need for its constant transformation. The main driving force of economic growth today is innovation, implemented both in production and in operation, management and consumption. Nowadays, special attention is paid to large companies, and the issue of evaluating their entrepreneurial capabilities.

Currently, any large established companies use various tools to avoid possible problems. The concept of open innovation is becoming more and more popular. Large companies are gradually taking the innovative entrepreneurial path of economic development. This is due to the speed of scientific progress and the need to be competitive in an ever-changing market. For example, the fast-food chain McDonald’s, which is a large, established company, focuses on innovative development based on a truly entrepreneurial strategy of collective intelligence. To find the most effective solutions and form strategic development plans, the company attracts a wide range of participants. The company is interested in activating entrepreneurial activities and unlocking the innovative potential of its employees. McDonald’s provides access to the mechanisms of submission, evaluation, selection and examination of proposals to everyone. Thus, a large fast-food chain provides support for the innovation process from the creation of an idea to its implementation.

In modern conditions, the preference for the traditional approach to innovation becomes the least effective. It can be concluded that there is an interest in open innovation among all major participants in modern economic activity. The solution to the issue of increasing the competitiveness of large companies cannot be achieved without the development of the process of activating truly entrepreneurial activities.
