Defining a character or a person as a hero requires them to demonstrate qualities that make them exceptional in their environment. Based on a framework constructed by Joseph Campbell to describe the typical mythological archetype of a mono-myth, it is possible to trace similar tropes in characters from Ancient Greece to modern days (Winkler). A clear example of a hero’s journey is the story of George Lucas’ Star Wars, embodied by its central hero, Luke Skywalker.
