Major Goals of a State: Political Progress

One of the most challenging tasks for a state is to achieve the major goals implied by its existence. They differ depending on the direction of their work, the inclusion of specific participants in the matter, and the methods of their pursuing. In general, the provision of security on the global scale, stability for both citizens and political entities, and prosperity for individual entrepreneurs and businesses are the principal targets of the government in promoting everyone’s wellbeing.

The first objective, security, is connected to the authorities’ efforts to ensure the survival of a state. For this, it should be fully autonomous and possess the required degree of influence on other countries, either through dominance or prestige. The failure to comply with these requirements leads to dramatic consequences, whereas the correspondence with the specified provisions increases an entity’s strength. For example, the presence of nuclear weapons in India and Pakistan improved their position in the world arena, and the United States’ initiative to gain support by providing economic benefits was advantageous. The second goal, stability, is aimed at maintaining order while developing politics in the context of democracy. Violence as the outcome of improper actions can be seen from Trump’s discriminatory remarks about non-whites. In turn, the third direction, prosperity, is addressed by economic development corresponding to the needs of the time. For instance, the introduction of technology in farming was essential for agriculture, and mechanization of production was required for efficiency.

To summarize, the major goals of a state include security, stability, and prosperity, and they cover the vital areas of societal life. The provision of security fosters political progress, and stability adds to the peaceful resolution of conflicts. As for prosperity, it underpins these two principles and contributes to the flexibility of the authorities exercised at the time of economic shifts, as can be seen from the field’s history.
