They have opened their membership to all individuals with just a simple condition that they want to solve their drinking problem.

The platform also provides various guides and information to professionals regarding stopping drinking in the society. The website provides critical information to the professionals in the alcoholism field that can help them deal with patients who undergo drinking problems. One of the essential information it provides to the professionals is that alcoholic patients are individuals who have lost their ability to deal with their drinking problems. One of the reasons why resistance can be frustrating to professionals is that a professional may have a correct diagnosis based on his knowledge and experience. Yet, his diagnosis may be rejected by a patient who does not know what the problem is all about. The other reason for the frustration would be rationalization of the drinking habit by the alcoholic patients. Denial and rationalization are among the common traits of alcoholic patients especially when they are not comfortable to admit their problem (Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, 2022b). The effect may pose a challenge to the professionals as they will be forced to argue over the patients’ problems.

One of the measures that can help alcoholics is step that talks about admitting one’s problem, that is, step number five. The procedure would ensure that the alcoholics get help because they have acknowledged their problem. The step does not just give them the chance to recognize the problem and seek help from others, it does more. First, by admitting to God that they are wrong and that they need help, they will begin their restoration process (Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, 2022b). Additionally, admitting to another person would enhance accountability and encouragement in the journey of recovery. The step makes the addict know that they are not alone and that by involving God and other people, they can get the help they need.
