Also, nurse leaders need to demonstrate their skills in self-awareness because they should analyze their mood to communicate effectively. They also should focus on self-management in order to control the impact of the mood on interactions (Huber, 2013). What is more important is that leaders need to be aware of other people’s moods and feelings. This skill is necessary to succeed in relationship management and conflict negotiation.
What does the term professionalism mean in relationship to leadership and management?
Leadership is also associated with the term “professionalism” which means the perfect performance as a specialist in a certain field and the specific approach to performing duties (Huber, 2013). Those leaders who can be discussed as professionals demonstrate the commitment to their work, and they follow the highest standards for their performance. Nurse leaders demonstrate professionalism when they are good at performing their duties, as well as organizing and coordinating the working process.
