Introduction
The topic of planned parenthood is an important issue that affects not only social but also healthcare aspects and involves a large number of stakeholders. Although education efforts are ongoing regularly, early pregnancy issues exist, which, in turn, entails a high percentage of abortions. In order to address this topic, it is essential to consider why its analysis and the assessment of possible ways to help future parents can be valuable from different perspectives. Special programs and techniques offered today in the medical field may be effective tools and can help educate young couples. Interventions related to the topic of planned parenthood are those involvement mechanisms that contribute to drawing up an objective program of interaction between the population and specialists of various profiles and, thus, avoiding undesirable outcomes.
Significance of the Topic
Although today, many young people are aware of the features and nuances of parenthood, the conception of a child is an extremely responsive action that requires the prior preparation of both partners. In addition, the situation is complicated by the fact that many couples become parents at a young age and, despite their physical maturity, they are not ready to accept a new status. According to Aeby et al. (2016), in the United States, teenage pregnancy is the highest in the entire Western world, and one of the reasons is the lack of basic knowledge about contraception. Accordingly, the importance of addressing this topic is growing because helping young people and, in particular, girls to learn more about reproductive health and safety principles should be part of mandatory preventive work.
The study aimed at analyzing the ways of helping and interacting with the target audience can take place in different modes. Certain factors, for instance, the national characteristics of a community, the financial status of participants, and other properties, may affect the course of work and its outcome. In addition, not only the younger generation can be involved but also older people since planned parenthood is relevant at all stages of life and is a valuable supportive technique. The importance of this topic is a good reason to intervene and help people at risk.
Current Findings and Observations
Today, planned parenthood is a topic that is discussed in many communities. As Lawrence and Ness (2017) argue, annually, assistance programs interact with approximately 2.5 million Americans, and special attention is paid to women’s health and preparation for pregnancy (p. 443). Also, the issues of people’s access to the services of professional physicians are raised because this problem is one of the relevant factors. In order to conduct a comprehensive study, more resources may be required. For instance, the statistics of early pregnancy in individual states can be used as a valid basis for the analysis and assessment of the issue.
As assistance tools, various courses and programs are found and evaluated. When reviewing academic literature, I have managed to find information about a special mobile application that helps to plan parenthood and aims primarily at helping women (Krauskopf, 2019). Nevertheless, more data need to be found on which programs of interaction between the population and providers can be effective and why. Therefore, evaluating the affordable ways of helping future parents through official healthcare programs is a key research topic.
Conclusion
Finding methods and interventions that focus on community engagement with healthcare providers may support planned parenthood and help couples avoid undesired outcomes. The relevance of this problem is due to both medical and social aspects. Today, a large percentage of Americans are involved in assistance programs, but in order to conduct valuable research, searching for additional methods of assistance may be needed. The evaluation of early pregnancy indicators in different regions and the analysis of the available interaction mechanisms between the target audience and providers are significant components of further work.
