Religious Interpretive Art Project on God’s Omnipresence

Christ has no body now on earth, but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours; yours are the eyes through which Christ’s compassion looks out at the world, yours are the feet with which he is to go about doing good, and yours are the hands with which he is to bless us now.

Figure

St. Teresa of Avila

The given prompt is devoted to the omnipresent nature of God. Some people have the idea of a supernatural creature with unlimited powers and the ability to influence their destinies. However, they forget that there is also a divine spirit that can be found everywhere as it is the source of life and all living beings. For this reason, God is in everyone’s hands, feet, eyes, and hearts. Doing good things, people act on His behalf and can share his blessing with other individuals. This idea is vital for understanding religion and its central beliefs along with the omnipresent nature of God.

The artwork interprets this prompt by showing that the whole Universe and the world are made by God, and he can also be found in every single thing here. The cosmic motifs are used to demonstrate the unique, complex, and endless nature of God. Furthermore, the idea that God is in everything presented in the left corner of the poster and conveys the central image of the selected prompt. Finally, hands are used as the symbol of blessing, the ability to make good things, and realize God’s will. I believe that the art medium helps to reflect the central idea of the selected saying and make people think about its sense.
