Remington Peckinpah Davis Inc.’s Problem Solution

Problem Solution: Remington Peckinpaw Davis Inc.

To begin with, it is necessary to mention that the RPD company experiences essential problems, which create serious obstacles for implementing the potential project. Originally, the main problem is covered in communication among the teams and team members, nevertheless, these problems may be easily solved.

Describe the Situation

Issue and Opportunity Identification

The issues and opportunities of the regarded scenario are generally aimed to provide the advantages for the users of the IT services, by implementing the new project in the working principles of RPD. The project is targeted at America’s upper echelon – the 2% of American families who hold 80% of the country’s assets — a strategy that served the company well through the early 1990s. By the mid-1990s, however, Internet and real estate booms were beginning to change the face of investment. Not only did they create a new layer of wealth, but they provided RPD’s newer, tech-savvy competitors with a host of new tools with which to tap into it.

Stakeholder Perspectives/Ethical Dilemmas

The ethical issues, which are represented in this case, are associated with the matters of inner relations within the team. As for the dilemmas, which are provided by these ethical issues, it should be stated that these are the issues of communication.

Frame the “Right” Problem

The main problem of the project, is the meeting of the needs and requirements for successful implementation and further management. Originally, one of the best ways to meet the requirements of the project planning and management is to use an integrated project planning and control system that requires selective information. Project managers who are engaged in managing of a single project can plan and schedule the project tasks without a formal planning and information system. Nevertheless, when the project manager must manage several small projects or a large, complex project, a threshold is quickly reached in which the project manager can no longer cope with the detail. (Ebook Collection: Chapter 8, 2006)

Describe the “End-State” Vision

If the RPD Company reaches its requirement and solves all the problems, it currently faces, the management teams of the project will be able to perform deeper cooperation, thus, the credibility of implementing more projects increases.

Identify the Alternatives and Benchmarking Validation

The issue of the project is the inability to perform serious cooperation among the managerial departments. This leads to delays, failures and breakdowns of the system. Opportunity: decrease the amount of mutual requirements and study the principles of cooperation and communication, improving the abilities in these spheres.

Alternative solution: increase the trust level to each other.

Evaluate the Alternatives

The alternatives for solving the discussed problems are few, nevertheless, they should be effective is the implementation process will be carefully and accurately planned

Identify and Asses Risks

There are always more project risk than there are available in the planning process. There is strong necessity to select projects that best supply to the organization’s purposes, within the restraints of the resources available. If all projects and their respective resources are computer scheduled, the feasibility and impact of the probable risks can be quickly assessed. With this information, the project priority team will add a new project only if resources are available to be formally committed to that specific project. (Ebook Collection: Chapter 4, 2006)

Make the Decision

Decision for the existing problems is the complete restructuring of the managerial system. It is stated in the case, that it is rather ineffective, if manager has to perform the actions, which are in his her subsidiary’s responsibilities. The fine bonus system should be implemented, which will encourage the professional growth of the workers and executive managers. The benchmarking of this improvement will entail the necessity for qualification improvement of the teams, the collective party for improving the communication level among workers. There will be strong necessity for re-planning of the project incorporation, after the described measures will be performed, as these would change the images of the teams.

Develop and Implement the Solution

For the successful implementation of the plan it will be necessary to consult the HR professional and implement the innovative principles of HR strategy. The fact is that, HR is the basis of the successful communication within any corporation, consequently, the changes in these strategies would result in the changes of the atmosphere, thus, changing the character of cooperation within the company.

Evaluate the Results

The results of the project implementation and the solution od the regarded problems may be evaluated only after the proposed solutions and principles are implemented. The fact is that, this is the only way for the accurate evaluation. Anyway, improvement of poor communication process would help to resolve numerous problems linked with cooperation among departments. If the potential of the company will be realized, and the other successful projects will be implemented, the solutions will be regarded as successful and helpful.

Conclusion

Finally, it should be stated that the solution of the regarded problems depends not only on the HR management and principles, as it was stated. However, the whole research reveals the fact, that the key factor is the desire of the employees and managers create the successful company, which will be able to originate and incorporate successful projects.
