The U.S government is committed to advancing healthcare readiness across the U.S and the world. The federal government formed the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services (CMS) to administer major healthcare programs in Medicare, Medicaid, and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). CMS also evaluates the quality of health facilities, insurance covers, and safety of health workers. The CMS focused on eliminating COVID-19, drastically increasing the volatility of American citizens and the health care system. CMS coordinates with third parties for more capacity to administer programs and important activities effectively. The 2020 fiscal year financial report dedicates special attention to COVID-19 while staying proactive on policies such as price transparency and patient health information to strike a balance between payers, providers, and patients.
The U.S government also intends to support the health of people in low- and middle-income countries. The U.S government is dedicated to health emergency protection to secure protection against global health threats. Similar to the U.S government, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation minimize the burden of infectious diseases in developing countries to eliminate inequities in health. The foundation provides healthcare in a broad spectrum, including emergency response, family planning, nutrition, global libraries, and maternal, newborn, and child health. I think Bill and Melinda’s foundation takes unprecedented action to fight deadly diseases and boost health in developing countries. However, more efforts should be directed toward developing health education and the total inclusion of underserved communities. The U.S government and NGOs can leverage digital technology, such as big data analytics and wireless communications, to locate areas most urgently needed healthcare services and improve communication between providers and patients. Healthcare education will provide a long-term solution to significant health challenges in developing countries.
