Globalization is a widespread phenomenon that determines the economic and trade processes all over the world. With the development of technology and significant achievements in cross-cultural communication, different countries and nations nowadays can exchange goods and services freely. In each country, people may find production from various parts of the world, and as well when going abroad, there are very high chances to see the goods from their own home countries. All those factors eventually led to the existence of a level playing field and almost no limitations to entering the world market and contributing to the global economy. Thus, the paper aims to analyze the global playing field and support it with arguments why it is considered to be level.
A level playing field implies equal opportunities for everyone to be a part of the worldwide market and contribute to the exchange of goods and services between countries. The first reason it can be considered level is that there are some regulations and rules that ensure fair trade and identical conditions for everyone. In order for everyone to be integrated into the process, European Union, for instance, created certain rules for countries to have an equal advantage in the market and keep fair competitiveness (Morris, 2021). Some of those rules aim to guarantee decent work conditions for the labor force and limit pollution caused by production.
In addition, there is a quota-free entrance into the global field for EU countries which is another way to create the conditions for non-barriers access to the trade market. Those countries that are not part of the EU still have opportunities to be included in the global field. Usually, they develop and make special agreements with each other on specific trading conditions in order to maintain economic relationships (Morris, 2021). Therefore, countries have the possibility to establish several partnerships that ensure free entrance to the global market.
Overall, globalization plays a crucial role in the evolvement of the international exchange of goods and services between nations and stimulates its further development. The global playing field can be considered level due to the special conditions of the accessible entrance. Moreover, the set of rules that provide the countries with fair and equal opportunities for participation contributes to the maintenance of the non-barriers market trade.
