Hope is a powerful emotion: its presence can guide and inspire, while its lack often calls forth devastation. In the holiday season, joy, happiness, and hope are shared by everyone in the community, representing the core values of the human experience. During this time, many see the Salvation Army as being the most active and often think that the organization only actively works during the winter holiday season. Contrary to that belief, the work of this organization continues all year round, doing much more than simply putting food on the tables of those that need it most. Working around the world makes a difference in the lives of more than 25 million people in the US alone (Betts, 2021). Salvation Army works to provide assistance to communities impacted by hunger, natural disasters, and even such problems as homelessness. It introduces people to a variety of programs designed to combat systematic generational issues, suck as rehabilitation efforts, financial literacy classes, and activities for children. The recent years, however, have been particularly challenging for the organization due to the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic. Salvation Army provides millions of meals to struggling families, also assisting with utility and rent payments for those struggling with the loss of income. All of the efforts continuously made by the Salvation Army seek to give people hope, especially those that have lost it due to circumstances. The organization operates all year round to not simply aid people that require shelter, food, or any other type of assistance but act as a source of inspiration for the ones that are down on their luck. Standing together with local communities, the Salvation Army works to tell everyone that their tomorrow can be better than today.
