Supporting Students With Disabilities

Introduction

Nowadays the number of students and children with mental and physical disorders is constantly increasing. Unfortunately, parents have no opportunities to provide their children with special help and education; this is a task of the government. The modern development of the educational system allows creating special institutions and educational centers to provide support for students with disabilities.

Main body

Students having special needs suffer sensory, intellectual, and physical disabilities; they may have a disability of learning or in their behavior. Despite this fact, all students should have an opportunity to study and realize themselves in their life in order to live a full-fledged life. In order to achieve it, a great number of special universities were created. They are aimed at providing Special Education to support students with disabilities and involve them in the modern educational system.

The promotion of learning for students with disabilities is widely spread not only within the states but on the international level. The educational system for people with disorders differs in its structure but not in its effectiveness from that of general learning. The main aspect in the development of special education is to work out a special individual plan for students and their parents to cooperate in the process of study. It is important to study all the details of the personality disorders of the students and according to the results, special groups should be formed.

Students should be involved in the general system of study indirectly for them not to feel their mental or physical disorders. Services provided in the special education system should cover the involvement not only of parents and students but also teachers who should realize and feel their significant role in the development of the educational level of students with disabilities. Teachers should identify the level of changes made in the general curriculum which is required for students with disorders.

The identification of the student’s disabilities is one more important step in the development of the educational program. Teaching staff should be aware of the degree of the disorder of their students in order to stress this or that aspect of study for every individual.

The continuum of service for students with disabilities should be thoroughly worked out by specialists. It is important to stress that students with special needs are less adaptive to the general curriculum and methods of study that is why they require individual rapport and changes in the general system of education.

The differences in the general system of education and that for students with disabilities are vivid and thoroughly planned by specialists, but they should be conducive to learning and perception for those students not to lack behind their peers in terms of mental and physical development.

Conclusion

The establishment of special institutions and educational centers for students with special needs should be promoted on the international level. All students should have an opportunity to learn and achieve something in their life; it can be reached due to their involvement in the system of education and understanding all main aspects of the curriculum programs. Mental and physical disorders are not the reasons for education disabilities.

Everyone can understand the peculiarities of the educational system and learn its program to get a career no matter what disabilities he has. The most important thing in providing support for students with special needs is to create a special environment that would be conducive to learning and understanding.
