The Development of Personal Worldview

Human beings live in trying times due to the presence of diverse views, concepts, and ideas that might affect the decisions they make and the way they pursue their personal goals in life. The development of a personal worldview is an evidence-based practice that can empower and guide more people to achieve their aims and relate with their colleagues ethically or acceptably. Individuals need to go further to consider some of the best beliefs, ideas, and attitudes that resonate with their desires in life. The purpose of this essay is to present a personal worldview that is by the test of reason and how I integrate it into my everyday life.

What Is True?

What I believe to be true is founded on my past experiences, thoughts, imaginations, and observations. My primary conviction is that all human beings have a special purpose and place in this world. I believe that God is the originator and source of all guidelines for pursuing personal goals in life. I understand He created every person for a specific purpose and reason. I have a unique role to play on this planet and change the experiences and outcomes of the greatest number of people. My worldview has guided my ethical, cultural, and religious beliefs and values that I have developed or acquired throughout my past life. I always focus on the best actions that can become moral laws and empower all those in need. Every person needs to be part of the wider system and consider the most appropriate actions that can make a significant difference (van der Kooij et al., 2017). The descriptions below provide a detailed summary of my worldview and its applicability to everyday life.

I always focus on the seven common questions that support the nature of my worldview. I acknowledge that there is a God who crafted the entire universe. The Christian Bible indicates

that he created man in His own image. This passage shows that we are all His representation in the world (Rousseau & Billingham, 2018). This idea gives me an impression of what God is like. I also understand that He is all knowing, was there before the creation of the universe, and will always be there because He is eternity. The universe originated from God’s actions and selected it for the purpose of supporting humanity.

Man is an intelligent creature whose abilities surpass those of all other organisms. He has a mind that makes it possible for him to differentiate what is wrong from what is right (Rousseau & Billingham, 2018). He knows what to do and the importance of avoiding sin. His presence on this planet is as a result of God’s decision to create him to fill the Earth. However, people have to die and rest until the Day of Judgment. Consequently, they should do what is right always if they want to join God in eternal kingdom. Human knowledge is a fundamental attribute that makes people informed and capable of pursuing their aims. This strength is a gift from God that individuals should utilize wisely. With such attributes, people are empowered or able to understand morality and ethics (van der Kooij et al., 2017). The bible introduces specific values and ideas that encourage people to do what is right and focus on new ways of maximizing happiness or overcoming their neighbor’s challenges. They should avoid sin and do what would be righteous according to God’s teachings. These attributes amount to the concepts or principles of morality and ethics.

I also view human history as a powerful source of ideas and information for those who want to learn more about the past and apply the new knowledge to pursue their future goals. The acquired ideas can encourage people to understand what happened to some of the people who failed to listen and follow God’s commandments, including the residents of Sodom and Gomorrah. People need to analyze their past carefully and make informed decisions that can make it easier for them to achieve their spiritual aims (Rousseau & Billingham, 2018). This kind of worldview and the notions of the truth continue to guide me whenever focusing on my professional and personal goals in life.

Reasons for the Outlined Belief

Several reasons explain why and how what I believe in is true. First, my life always revolves around my cultural experiences, class materials, and religious teachings. My religious background compels me to appreciate the fact that God created the current universe and ordered everything in it. All objects appear to glorify God and encourage human beings to worship and praise Him (van der Kooij et al., 2017). Many people in my society believe in a Supreme Being who is the source of the world they live in. With this kind of understanding, I acknowledge that God is the beginning and the end.

Second, the Bible offers a detailed analysis of the origin of man and the events that take place after death. This knowledge is essential since it encourages believers to develop a positive mindset and focus on the best ways to be part of the promised eternal kingdom (Hirsto, 2019). The verses and stories found in different religious books and materials support this kind of understanding. I have always been keen to analyze such works and improve my philosophy of life significantly.

Third, the ideas and information gained from most of the completed class readings have equipped me with new concepts about morality and ethics. After going through different Biblical stories, I have realized that human beings should act in a proper manner and avoid abusing others (van der Kooij et al., 2017). The values of love, empathy, justice, sympathy, and honor stand out when someone is trying to do what is right when interacting with other members of the society. The stories described in the Bible go further to present historical insights for taking morality and ethics to the next level. With these ideas, it becomes clear that my assumptions about what I believe to be true are acceptable and informed by the test of reason (Phillips et al., 2008). The idea behind such an argument is that my worldview is balanced, rational, and capable of taking me to the next level.

Application in My Day to Day Life

Every person experiences numerous situations that can be rewarding, traumatic, or unpredictable. These occurrences can make it possible for many individuals to achieve their goals or find meaningful solutions to their unique problems. Luckily, the development of an effective and practical worldview can guide more individuals to solve the issues they encounter in their day to day lives (Rousseau & Billingham, 2018). The approach is appropriate since such philosophies revolve around ethics, morality, and willing to do what is right.

Personally, I apply my worldview in such a way that all my actions are in accordance with God’s commandments and expectations from humanity. I take adequate time to worship and praise Him and find a new reason to relate positively with others (Hirsto, 2019). I have appreciated the importance of treating myself with respect as part of God’s creation. This kind of strategy prepares me for any challenge or obstacle that I might face in life. I consider my background and knowledge in order to remain resolute and focus on my higher aims.

Whenever completing any task or interacting with other people, I assume that God is monitoring every step or action I take. This form of understanding reminds me to do what would be right even if no one was watching. This kind of practice has made it easier for me to overcome some of the mental troubles and cases of depression associated with lies or dishonesty (Rousseau & Billingham, 2018). I appreciate the importance of being faithful, telling the truth always, and focusing on the best strategies to improve or grow my philosophy of life. Such an initiative has managed to support my goals and make me successful in different areas, including my interpersonal relations, communication, and education.

Through the use of the above personal worldview, I have managed to focus on the challenges and issues many people have to go through. The principles of morality and ethics have always been guiding me to identify those in need to do something that would change their experiences for the better (Phillips et al., 2008). I provide the needed support whenever I am in a position to do so. I avoid some of the malpractices that human beings face in their lives, including stealing, sinning, and offending others. I interact with all people positive while at the same time expecting them to show the required respect (Hirsto, 2019). I avoid those who are immoral or arrogant. I promote concepts of empathy and sympathy in my clinical practice in order to make the world much better for more patients in need of medical services. I encourage my colleagues to do what is right even if there was no one was monitoring them. Such an initiative would make it easier for them to find new meaning in their lives and overcome their predicaments.

I believe that a detailed analysis of my past and connecting with my future is an appropriate practice that can eventually make me a better person. I will engage in lifelong learning to acquire additional values, principles, and attributes that are in accordance with the above worldview (Rousseau & Billingham, 2018). I will consult more articles, books, and spiritual stories that can transform my ethical and moral principles.

Conclusion

The above discussion has identified a personal worldview as an effective tool for guiding human beings to do what is right and follow their notions of truth. I believe that my worldview is reasonable since it borrows a lot from my past experiences and religious readings. I have always applied the outlined principles to help others and do what is right according to God’s teachings. I will engage in lifelong learning to transform my worldview and eventually become a better person.
