The Importance of a Scientific Component in Choosing a Future Career

At the beginning of the 21st century, the factor of science was successfully introduced into all aspects of the daily lives of human beings. This did not bypass the sphere of careers and work, especially the most intelligent parts such as Crime Scene Investigation (CSI). The learning from the sciential point can help a novice specialist to develop new technologies in this area of the criminal investigation, which will undoubtedly bring career success and benefit society. According to Stenmark, “there is nothing outside the domain of science nor any area of human life to which science cannot successfully be applied” (7). The purpose of this paper is to discuss the erudite factor itself and in terms of building a CSI career, especially in Kuwait.

Science Opens Up New Paths for Young People

A high degree of education in technical disciplines has always been widely appreciated by employers and society as a whole. States even develop whole new methodologies to attract such specialists. According to Patterson et al., “science policy offers a challenging and rewarding career path for scientists interested in social, ethical and legal implications of their field” (par. 1). Also, the educational process in a particular scientific discipline comprehensively develops primary individual and professional qualities. According to Salonen et al., “In addition to a specific Mindset, higher order thinking skills were highlighted and mainly linked to problem-solving…” (1345). Entering the scientific field in a literal sense opens up the whole world and provides an incredibly unique experience for young people. However, these are only secondary factors and reasons for this activity. The main driver for becoming a scientist should be a desire to learn the truth and ameliorate the surrounding social situation.

Crime Scene Investigation as a Future Career in Terms of Science

CSI fieldwork contains large amount science-intensive practices. This specialty requires excellent mental abilities and extended cognition in technical disciplines. It is possible to note that “degree programs in science or criminal justice, especially programs with hands-on lab work, such as chemistry, forensic science and biology…” (“Crime Scene Investigation”). The essence of this profession is to maximally approximate recreation of a consistent and general picture of the crime that has occurred. The nature of this profession is to maximally approximate recreation of a consistent and broad picture of the crime that has occurred. On the shoulders of the specialist lies a duty to society, which consists of the fastest and most accurate detection and further capture of the offender. Crime scene investigators, as well as police officers or soldiers, protect civilians from individuals dangerous to the community.

Current Scientific and SCI Situation in Kuwait

In Kuwait, there is currently a somewhat ambiguous situation in terms of scientific disciplines. According to Al-Muomen and Abdulla, the majority of educational materials and programs of technical subjects at the western level is nowadays provided only by one Kuwaiti state university (223). To solve the issue of access to education, it is vital to increase the number of specialists in the scientific field. This, in turn, will entail the creation of new educational institutions and learning programs and, in the future, will attract government funding. The rules of sustainable and successful progress of the country in our time are in close reciprocity between the state and the scientific bloc when they support each other.

Most of the features of the local CSI are related to Kuwait’s climate. However, the lack of innovative DNA analysis methods also has a negative impact on it. According to Al-Kaldari et al., local high temperatures and time spent on the identification process play a decisive role in the course of destruction of the obtained samples. Failure to identify criminals on time and the further impossibility of catching them pose a danger to the community. It also gives rise to public distrust of law enforcement, panic, and stress levels. That is why it is vital to develop the CSI system and related scientific disciplines. In the future, new and young specialists familiar with climatic features will be able to create authentic methods for collecting storage and analysis of critical samples.

Conclusion

It is imperative to understand what science education and activities can provide to young people. They not only develop a person in narrow specialties but also positively change their way of thinking. A highly qualified scientist is becoming widely known and significant for the whole world. However, the acquired scientific knowledge and practice can be directed to help the home country. So do people who become crime scene investigators. They use their skills to achieve truth and peaceful life in society. Using Kuwait’s problems in the field of science, it can be seen how significant scientific potential is for all human beings. The scientific methodology can resolve not only these but also many other local and world problems of modern humanity.
