However, determining one’s values and understanding which concepts and ideas one prioritizes is a complex journey of self-assessment and self-exploration. The Rockeach Values Survey (RVS) provides an effective instrument for determining one’s values and placing them within the personal value system, therefore, recognizing one’s priorities. By introducing the values of health, social recognition, prosperity, and freedom as representations of one’s needs on individual, interpersonal, organizational, and societal levels, one can create a system within which core personal and professional decisions can be made to benefit all stakeholders involved.

Analysis

Values

The RVS tool provides a plethora of unique and essential qualities that can be used to build an effective approach to decision-making and contribute to one’s personal progress. However, among the core ones, four can be selected as the foundation for the further management of major issues. Specifically, the value of health should be placed at the top on an individual level, the importance of social recognition need must be acknowledged on the interpersonal one, prosperity should be valued on an organizational one, and freedom needs to be prioritized within a societal level (Kumpikaitė-Valiūnienė et al., 2021). The outlined values have been selected for their impact both in the short and long term based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.

Specifically, health can be seen as the core requirement representing the basic physiological needs that every individual has. In turn, social recognition is valued as a critical factor encouraging one to succeed and engage in social interactions with others. Furthermore, in the organizational context, prosperity as a truly capitalist value needs to be seen as the foundation for decision-making. Finally, in the social context, freedom represents the quintessence of social values, enabling each individual to evolve and actualize themselves (Kumpikaitė-Valiūnienė et al., 2021). For the specified reasons, the values under analysis have been chosen as the critical ones.

Leadership

The values identified above shape and define behaviors and actions in an organizational context to a significant extent. Specifically, the impact that the specified values produce on the choice of leadership strategies, respective behaviors, and actions taken to address specific organizational issues, need to be considered. For instance, it is believed that the focus on health will allow mitigating the threat of workplace burnouts in staff members, which is particularly important for the contexts that require manual labor, management of excessive data, or extensive communication with customers (Kumpikaitė-Valiūnienė et al., 2021). Additionally, the emphasis on health as a core individual value will contribute to substantial improvements in the benefit package offered to each staff member.

Similarly, the significance of social recognition as a powerful instrument for promoting improvements in interpersonal relationships and improving the quality of leadership needs to be mentioned. Specifically in the target context, social recognition allows a leader to enhance the quality of team members’ interactions by acknowledging their contribution and professional progress (Kumpikaitė-Valiūnienė et al., 2021). Representing an important incentive for introducing change and building motivation in participants, the specified construct must be recognized as a critical method of enhancing the performance of a team and enfro0cign the principles of collaboration.

On the organizational level, the role of prosperity must be acknowledged as an essential construct that helps a leader explore team members’ potential and build the basis for the rapid development of an organization. Specifically, the focus on prosperity as the acquisition of wealth and its further management should be inspected from the standpoint of the increase of the organization’s human capital and the focus on incremental improvement (Kumpikaitė-Valiūnienė et al., 2021). The promotion of innovative solutions in the corporate context will guide the company toward an improved performance framework due to the respective changes in the leadership approach.

Finally, on a societal level, the significance of freedom as an essential value must be recognized in order to become an effective leader. Specifically, the stability to make decisions and be responsible for one’s own actions, thus, experiencing self-actualization, is vital for the effective functioning of a democratic society. For this reason, freedom must remain one of the core values around which leadership principles are built (Kumpikaitė-Valiūnienė et al., 2021). Being supported by the notion of freedom as a foundational value for building society, a leadership approach is bound to succeed due to the opportunity that it will provide for promoting the relevant values and encouraging the notion of democracy.

Meaning

Finally, the meaning of the specified values needs to be discussed as a critical component of the leadership framework and the further advancement of continuous improvement within a team. On an individual level, health as a principal value has a very basic meaning, implying that an individual’s well-being is guarded. The specified constructs have a particular value and meaning, and purpose for a leader in an organizational setting. Specifically, the construct of health allows a leader to conceptualize the process of managing the team members as the most valuable resource of the organization (Kumpikaitė-Valiūnienė et al., 2021). As a result, opportunities for enhancing the company’s performance and improving it substantially become available. Furthermore, applying the specified lens to the issue of human resources management will allow promoting motivation, engagement, and loyalty in participants, encouraging them to become invested in the corporate performance.

In turn, the meaning and purpose of social recognition as a critical management value should be acknowledged. Specifically, social recognition becomes one of the main tools for enhancing employees’ loyalty and connection to the company. Likewise, the meaning that prosperity has for an organization should be extrapolated to a broader framework in order to embrace the concept of continuous improvement (Kumpikaitė-Valiūnienė et al., 2021). Namely, the notion of prosperity should be intertwined with maximizing the human resource potential within the company, which implies that prosperity should be linked to people and the impact that they produce on the firm. Finally, the meaning of freedom should be explored as a broader notion that allows society to thrive. Specifically, the introduction of the value of freedom will help shift the paradigm for modeling the leadership process within the organization toward a unifying framework that will represent core organizational processes as parts of a single continuous routine (Kumpikaitė-Valiūnienė et al., 2021). Thus, continuous progress will be achieved, with staff members working toward a common goal and being motivated to improve their performance.

Conclusion

By choosing health, social recognition, prosperity, and freedom as values encapsulating the essence of one’s demands and needs on the individual, interpersonal, organizational, and societal levels, one will be able to develop personally and professionally, furthermore, the selected set of values will guide one to supporting the global development and the focus on constructing a healthy and functional global community. The specified characteristics will allow building a leadership approach and a decision-making framework that will guide one toward managing core issues and making choices that will benefit all parties involved. Moreover, the specified framework will provide one will essential insights regarding personal and professional growth, encouraging incremental improvement as the guiding strategy.
