Three Items Linked to Policing That Explain Japan’s Low Crime Rate

One of the most significant trends observed in Japan over the past years is the low crime rate. The positive trend has promoted peace and social-economic progress in the nation. The essential elements that have enabled the above culture are the harmony, high self-control, and group orientation. These important innate values have managed to transform and demonstrate Japan as one of the world’s exceptional nations.

Japanese people believe in love, peace, and unity for existence. They regard harmony as a powerful way of living together. They understand that people need to co-exist harmoniously for social-cultural development. These members prioritize personal honor and intricate social protocols (Reichel, 2018). In other words, Japanese people regard the value of respecting other people’s space. The above trend has helped promote the region’s relatively low crime rate.

Japanese people believe in the power of promoting individual self-restraint. They have articulated the art of understanding one another irrespective of their social and cultural difference. Negative virtues such as anger and aggression are considered an abomination among the Japanese (Reichel, 2018). In all sectors, these members have been controlled by the need to promote solid social bonds and unity. This approach has encouraged respect and strong understanding among the community.

The Japanese people regard group orientation as an ideal mechanism of reducing crime. Crime rates have been kept low among the Japanese due to the efficient legal system. Japanese criminal justice provides powerful and elaborate ways of dealing with criminal cases. For example, all the convicts and suspects are dealt with effectively. In most cases, these members are provided with suitable corrective measures intended to help limit the instances that may occur in the future
